Love Conquers All
I hope you enjoy this simple Americana song not meant to reinvent the wheel in terms of lyrical ambiguity but to just continue the literal message of "All You Need Is Love". It's just a heart-felt fun song without existential angst! I tried to capture a musical moment that evokes a euphoric freedom and a sense of the redemptive power of love.

And you've captured it perfectly - a simple, beautiful song about a simple, beautiful thing. Perfect timing too because in the wake of all the violence we are guilty of in this country, a song like this sounds so typically American and serves as an antidote. I'm always harping on the power of music and consider me harping again haha

Thank you Delores. You read my mind! I pray that we can use the love we have for our children to bring forth the necessary changes in this country to prevent future tragedies. In a sense, ALL children are OUR children whether biologically or not, we must the defend the defenseless. If we don't, then history will show that we have failed miserably as a nation.

It's such a great catchy song!
Perfect for the season and very meaningful right now to me with the hideous happenings in America. I just wish and pray something is done. We had our tragedies here and the government acted quickly and banned handguns. The people here have a very different attitude to weapons - we certainly don't see it as our "right" to carry them and people even get prosecuted for killing burglars! I'm not saying it's perfect here but the only people who'd want a gun here would be a gang member, a sportsman or a hunter. Only a tiny minority of the police are armed here. Sorry I've gone off at a complete tangent here...........maybe not the right place for a rant but somehow your song made me think about how the positive surely has to outweigh the negative.

In all things love is the answer. Thank you so much for writing and producing this very important song. As stated by others, the timing is right on track. I truly love your vocals here. Very inspiring and heartfelt! The music tracks are right on point and superb to the 10th degree.
As usual I am so awed by your talent and your commitment to being who and what you are. Your music is spiritual without being religious. Inspiring without being overtly opinionated. Heartfelt without being being sappy.
Great vocals, musicianship and songwriting! That always seems to be your magical calling card. Bravo!

Richard, I love this song! It takes a difficult subject, The whole CONCEPT of love, and expresses the emotion of love without being corny, or cliche, or dirivitive. The production is excellent (not uncommon in your work) and it got me thinking that if you know anyone at all in the film industry, I'd totally be pitching it. It's the whole theme of every romantic comedy and it says it in a really feel-good kind of way. They could run the entire song as the credits roll!
There's a guy named Aaron Davison who has a small music marketing company in Chicago. I bet he'd take you on as a client. He's currently pitching about a dozen songs for me, but I still have to work on my production skills. I think this song is exactly what someone in the film biz is looking for. I'll PM you Aaron's info, if you're interested.

Thank you so much, Stoneman, Chandra and Bryon. The kind words are greatly appreciated. Although a simple song, it took many a late night session and much hand wringing to arrive at this version. If I don't get the sound I hear in my head, I just keep going until I do. The mixing process can be hell but the results are heaven. All of your words of praise makes it all worth it. This kind of support is truly what propels me forward musically, even in times of doubt and fear.

no worries, And a Starmaker I aint, far from it. I have a roster of 20 plus clients and none are stars, just determined individuals gutting it out in this crazy entertainment industry. maybe I am more an advocate of those I believe in. I think that is a better description

Tom ~ Has hell frozen over? That is the most glowing review you have every given me!
People may not realize how insecure I am about my music. When I write, I certainly think that it's sounding good or I wouldn't write it, but I truly I have no idea how other people will react until I put the song out there. The reactions always amaze me. I sometimes think I'm just a conduit for music that is in the air and I take a net and try to catch it as it flies by. It's completely intuitive and unplanned. Of course there are certain creative goals that guide what I do but mostly I mostly let my sub-conscious do the work and I follow my instincts where ever they go, for better or worse! I feel that I have turned certain liabilities into assets.
I never let myself become over-confident. I'm never totally satisfied with what I've done. My insecurity keeps me on my toes and helps me strive for excellence. If I knew in advance exactly what kind of song I will write next and if I was aware of how it would be eventually received, life would be really boring indeed. I love to the walk the creative tightrope. Fear of falling keeps me focused on the wire because I know the wire can get me safely to the other side if I don't get too cocky about my abilities and get distracted by ego or negative thinking.
Some confidence is good and necessary but too much is detrimental. It helps to be your own worst critic sometimes because if you're tough on yourself, you won't freak out when others are tough on you and you won't embarrass yourself by putting something out there that is not ready for public consumption.
Some artists say "failure is not an option". OMG! What a huge amount of pressure to be under that delusion! Anyone can fail and it's no disgrace. In fact the word "failure" is very subjective as is the word "success". If I never "make it" in the music business, I could care less. I do it because I love it, not because I see it as the road to fame and fortune. I'm doing what I love and I love what I do. The moment I stopped trying too hard was the moment I had a epiphany that was brought on by an abundance of humility. Giving up was actually giving in...to reality. When I stopped caring about "success", it freed up all creative juices and I hid from the public eye for years while honing my craft and sharpening my skills. When I let go of my ego, I soared like an eagle. Eagles fly without knowing how amazing it is to be able to do that.
When I was much younger, my confidence far exceeded my abilities. Now my abilities exceed my confidence and for me, that's how it should be.
