Twice A Year
I thought you might be interested in this little video that was made for my album launch a couple of years ago by Patchwork, Bristol.
The song Twice A Year is about visits from my dad throughout my childhood which made me feel secure and that all was well with the world - even if the visits were only a few times a year. Most people (including my parents) feel this is a sad song but it wasn't intended to be. I wrote the lyrics almost entirely in words of one syllable as if written by a child (only never and alone have two syllables) and I play it on classical guitar.
The original film was taken on Super 8 film (apart from the baby at the beginning which isn't me) and shows me and my younger sister filmed by my dad over the years.

That's a great little bit of video, Chandra - Did you put it together yourself? The images really fit the song and vice versa.

Hi Tom - no a friend did all my little videos for my album launch in Feb2008. She calls herself Patchwork based in Bristol. It took her ages as she did about 6 or 7 of them - my dad took the original Super 8 films.
It adds a bit of interest to the songs I think - the film clips for this one brings back a lot of memories of my dad's visits!
