Today Was a Good Day
I woke up this morning and for the first time in about two months I was "pain free" Oh what a feeling to be able to walk and move about without grimacing in anyway. Then, I checked my emails and was shocked to find that I had won (again) an "Outstanding Achievement In Songwriting" award in the Great American Songwriting Contest for my song "You Need Therapy". I realized how blessed I am because this is my second year in a row winning this award. I guess the old fart has still got it eh?

Then, I was reminded that my song "Hope Is Still Alive" is currently #1 on the R&B/Soul charts here at IAC. It is my first #1 here ever!
Anyway, I thought about those bumper stickers that people use to have that said "Shit Happens" and how other people started countering with bumper stickers that said "Good Things Happen". Well, today is a good things happens day for me. Tomorrow may be the former but today there was no pain, another award winner and respect from the greatest musicians website I have ever been on. So, I am savoring this moment because after all these years in music I have learned they don't happen often. You have to really milk a good things happens day for all it is worth.
