Dear Sirs: (or Madams, whatever)
I have been reading about your re-launch with enthusiastic indifference. I am not too terribly concerned with your success / lack of success because it really won't matter to me. "Indie music on the internet" is just one of MANY entertainment options available to me, the regular, talentless, hated and stinking listening public. If suckage occurs, I lose nothing except a little wasted time. As a wise man once said "no big whoop".

I know you (the collective "you", kinda like the royal "we") don't want to tip your hand just yet, what with the big countdown and all. However, I can't help but wondering if there is going to be any sort of move towards being a "public facing" site designed to appeal to clueless morons like moi that are simply not inclined to sit around clicking this and that. If I am going to have to click, I will likely click my happy ass elsewhere.

See - here's the thing - I WANT TO LIKE AND SUPPORT THE INDEPENDANT ARTIST. But it is getting very, very hard to do. After trying for about a decade, I am getting tired of it. How hard can it be to present good, quality non-corporate music in a format that the average douche finds appealing? Apparently EXTREMELY hard.

I don't pretend to have the answers. I don't NEED to have the answers, that is YOUR problem. Man, how sweet is it to be me? Real sweet, must suck to be you. Entertain me, it's not hard because I am just not that bright (I ain't got me no big fancy website and such like).

hey jingo, sure always like what you got to say and glad you stopped in for a spell, and appreciate you being willing to share your opinions about the new and improved up and coming changes here , it does sound exciting, I hope it works out like you do,(wait a minute you dont care, indifference, yah, that happens sometimes I better get with it and stay focused ) I think the ideas are good , the concept seems to be alright, we all hope it works out. But as for me, I am just doing my thing trying to survive making a living and juggling things around helping some artists pitching their songs about, as well as my full time teaching gig, so my focus is on me and my biz and I really dont have a lot of time to be concerned about it right now, I guess I was waiting to see a big EXPLOSION of CHANGES. but these things take time and planning , lots of behind the scenes things that I just dont have a clue about, well kinda a clue, but not much......i am joe public too as well as you are. even though I am a musician, I like to think a decent one......anyways carry on as a blab and get sidetracked throwing everything around this little blog like a Tasmanian devil

, and yah who really cares about the indie slop, but there is some pretty good slop here I think, sometimes I get excited by the tunes I hear here , here here,, and then I go, my how can one ever listen to it all,all these tens of thousands of songs, as you may know I do try, my poor head starts to hurt and my brain begins to explode and my eardrums go numb and i have to take a breath and take a rest every so often, but thats ok I still come back for more...I guess I am kinda like the fish that gets hooked caught and thrown back in the water by some kind fisherman, over and over.

Yah, there is just too much music, if that is what you want to call it, well some of it is ok and some is good, and a lot is not exceptional, songs that stand out , there is no much that is brilliant

I even like to think I can write a song, but I dont write in the sense of songcrafting, lyrics, I just am a old classically trained dude who makes instrumentals, and those are never gonna go anywhere , but then again , I am just fooling myself that I will ever get something that might hook at least one person : ), and then I get the everybody wants to be a star syndrome, then something bites me in the ass I wake up and realize I better get making some money doing what I do best and quit dreaming the PIPE dream ,I am just too old , let the young bucks do it, they are full of piss and vinegar and better at being creative then I will ever be
so honestly I guess I dont care and got my own rainbows to chase around town here these days to get overly excited and turned on, but it sounds cool dont it.

Oh what am I saying , this is gonna look bad and I might get some people mad at me for being so truthful, or something.

shall we do a collab sometime and become instant stars nah. I like sitting at home here pushing buttons and clicking and tapping these keys and listening to music while I do it , some of the good old Eagles tunes, or Queen or Super Tramp, Kansas, the Beatles, all that really good stuff that was real.

thanks again for dropping in

now to talk to my brother soon . got a gig to go to on the weekend.should be fun

no, I aint playing just drinking scotch while I watch

Whazzup Jingo,
Glad to see you still have some faith. If you have a little extra time, I know you'll find some choice tunes here. Ya just gotta come by on a more frequent basis. Being around ten plus years you know what an uphill battle it is for an Indie artist. It's almost a "David & Goliath" kinda thing.

Supporting the few Artists you really like is what it's all about.

And, No being me doesn't suck. I love writing and making music. Even if you don't like it. Now there's one of the freedoms we still have left .......at least for the time being.

I'll keep pluggin away and you do the same,... Deal?

Peace Dude,

D.

Thanks Jingo,

I am just happy to have somewhere to put my music and here and there someone listens. This site has always had a very good community feel about it and artists can exchange ideas and thoughts with other artists, after all good bad or indifferent anyone who creates is an artist, no matter how obscure or unknown his/her work is. So as long as the public can find the site, and find our music and it does not cost the independent artist and arm and a leg, it is fine. Change is necessary evolution and only time will tell if the change works for the better. So long as we don't forget who provides most of the music here...the indie artist.

Ciao,

Vincenzo Pandolfi

Well, I am not really sure what IAC 3.0 is, or what it will do for me :) So.... there is an "artist empowerment" weekend in October, thats all well and good but what's going to happen over the next five months? Whats going to happen the Monday after the "empowerment Weekend"? I don't see much excitement around here these days, so whatever is going to happen should start "Happening" :)
It's hard to get excited as I have heard the build ups before, and most ended with a resounding thud. So, Good luck with whatever is coming, I hope it benefits the site and I can be some small part of it. Just don't mess with my Prime Perpetual membership and we will be right as Rain.

Peace.

Dear Jingo,

Fuck you, you fuckin' Texan ... where you have to drive a fucking hour to take a fuckin' piss.

Who the fuck do you fucking think you are commenting on what you fucking like and dislike? You will eat the plate that is served in front of you. Including the broccoli, you fucking limp dicked fuck.

IAC 3.o.1.7 is going to fucking explode on the internety world. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about ... as a listener. ARTISTS rule, and this is an artist's site. Please send money.

But I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of listeners telling us brilliants what the hell.

What the hell?

Hmm.... I could have sworn this was removed earlier. I was basking in the glory of being so naughty that I was sent to my room for a time-out. Maybe I just need to have my eyes checked? Either way, I AM naughty and wicked. As a stick. Maybe a stick with failing eyesight.

I am not really questioning the viability of the content, just the design and appeal of the delivery channel. No doubt, there is a lot of worthwhile music out there for any / every taste. So the question would seem to be where the hell is everybody? The regular no-talent everybody, the dadgum public? Are they just to dumb to show up, or has there been a failure in attracting / retaining their attention?

just asking - not pointing fingers at anybody. Just posing a query.

good point Jingo on the dadgum public, but I know there are listeners, I know that for a fact, I get told that some people do listen to the stations here, but I dont think they are interested in showing up making comments here, just telling us that the music is good. because there is a lot of good music here , there is no denying that of course but artists supporting artists. kinda like building a building for a builder. maybe

I know I have a number who have even visited my little bolthole artist site and stream my page every so often, see, I have it as a sort of advertisement for my biz, of what I can do. So I get a lot of students to study with me since they heard me play some songs. so indirectly I make money from having my music on my pianoteacher site, that is a bonus. but I am here not to be the star that I am not. I am here to offer up support of my fellow musicians, listen up to their music, make a few comments on what I like about their music and just generally share some ideas and post a blog once in awhile/////but as for getting money from my songs or getting recognition, not likely.

As for the changes and upcoming transitions to iacmusic, I am sure it will be a good thing for many. but for me, I am not capable or even willing to think I am going to benefit from it, since my desires goals and all are different. I dont have the drive to really care about making it. what ever that means. like I said, too old too late and just dont have it

I do it for fun, for me and if someone else digs what I do, that is cool and a bonus
