To my dear IAC friends...
Hello All,

I haven't been around here for awhile, due to a crisis with my 83 yr. old mother. To put it frankly, she is probably dying. She has been in the hospital the past 2 days, dealing with heart failure and extreme kidney failure, it does not look good. The Nephrologist has assessed her situation, and will do what he can, but she has alot going against her. She has diabetes and high blood pressure and heart disease, so it will be a balancing act trying to get things under control, if at all. My brother and I are at the hospital pretty much all day.
If she gets sent home, which is likely, it will be a hard road, which is likely. My wish is that she will die peacefully and without pain. One can only hope. I was once before in this place with my dad, who had MS, 3 years ago, but unfortunately he died tragically in a nursing home, so I will do my best to ease things for my mom in this transition. She is Nicarauguan, and sometimes has that spanish fire in her, which can be difficult at times, but I suppose that's what has kept her alive all these years, god bless her.

I wanted to thank everyone for their great support of my music and for putting my songs on your stations, I haven't been around here enough to write on your tagboards, so here is my thank you to you all! My music usually gets put on the backburner as a caregiver, but it always seems to be waiting for me, upon my return, so to me, that is a gift and the beauty of music.

I consider you, my IAC friends, my family and dear friends in music and in life. Please keep my mother in your prayers....

Love, Gina
xoxo

Hi Gina,

We have not met, but rest assured that you and your Dear Mother will be in my prayers.

I feel deeply for you, because I know how difficult and heart wrenching it can be to suffer with someone you dearly love and can't imagine not having in your life!

After nearly 60 years on this planet, I have experienced a lot pain and suffering and have watched as those people around me have passed......So, my Heart sincerely goes out to you.

From your post, I can only say that you impress me as someone with a strong will, a loving heart and the courage to accept and deal with what life offers.

May God Bless You and Keep You and Your Mother Close.....

Texas Willie

Dear Gina,

It sounds like your mother has the best thing she needs right now, that is you and your brother.
Both of you are obviously there for her, and I am sure that this is of great comfort to her. Be strong as you are. Your mum is obviously a fighter, so you never know!

I wish to dedicate my song Destiny to you and your brother.

Love & Hugs,

Vincenzo

Hi Gina,
Sorry to hear about your mum. I found that music was the only thing that helped me through very difficult times, especially my iPod which I have with me to comfort me wherever I go.
Perhaps the music and grapics on my new station "Tranquility" could help you and your mum to feel more peaceful.

DirgeK also regarded her singing as a cathartic experience and sang to free herself of painful emotions.

My deepest thanks to all of you for your kind and supportive comments...:) You never know, maybe my mom will be able to fight this one, she's a very tough woman who has survived breast cancer, a heart attack, and the death of my dad, so it's certainly possible. The kidney specialist talked about "dialysis", but I'm not sure what that all entails, I'll have to look it up on the internet. At her age, it may not be an option. She also has so many other health problems going on which complicate things immensely. Every day we've had at least one to 2 docs tell us her situation is not looking good, so it's hard to be hopeful, but I'm trying.

Once again, thanks to you all, my dear friends, and I send a big virtual hug to you all...:)

Love, Gina
xoxo
