The Mystic - not just another ol station!... :-D
I have not thought to create a station and involve you all directly in the selection process until just now. The title is inspired by Auset's song The Mystic... it's a special song because it embraces a key element I look for within any genre.. that being said this is also an opportunity to acknowledge the music I have sourced here in the past. Music is highly subjective to the listener and there is no wrong or right to it, so I don't want to discourage anyone by this station but rather provide a place for the discussion of and to the music you feel you really tapped in within yourself which effectively transferred into your music.

I think many artists hope to achieve this in their work because we all know when we are effected by a song, we will then be motivated to purchase that song or even album. Hopefully some of the discussion if taken more seriously will provide insight in some way to your creative process and how that may apply to your success, either monetary or by the even greater effect of touching people's lives. Music is a great opportunity for healing in that way, and if this is what you are desiring to achieve through your art then hopefully this station will be of interest to you.

If there are some of you which I have not yet found and you feel there is a song which you have especially tapped within yourself to impart for the benefit of others, please post it here.. I will listen and if I feel there is reciprocity with your song I will add and comment to it. I also welcome the exchange of your comment to your song or another person's perhaps it will inspire you in a different way and you will want to include it on one of your stations.

There are many great indie artists that do this consistently in their work - to mention a few but certainly not limited to the works of artists such as Tony Lowe, Alison Fleming, Ella Blame, Geomatic, More Human than Human, Auset, Elijah Wolf, Foy Vance, Haiku, Wendy Jensen,

Thanks you two.. as I said it's all subjective and so far I've added a few that I feel meets the criteria, I hope you enjoy the station and dialogue as it develops. It will take time to build and I want to be thoughtful about it when I can return at a future point in the near future.

oh my... I just found my way to your new station and about fell out of my chair... blushed too.... I'm afraid I am a bit beyond words... except to say that I am truly touched that The Mystic could offer such inspiration.

Early on when our ep came out, I made the mistake of thinking I should seek a review. I sent it in to our local paper... and within a couple of weeks we were shredded to pieces...

Its alright... I learned a lot about myself and what I do. And its definitely not a mainstream venture, but more the roadless travelled.
So, thanks for bending your ear and heart...

On my page is a song called "Mystic." I think it might fit the bill.

I AM SPARTAGUS.. Hmm, I would guess your name to be Gregg. Don't know ya, and I see your picking on poor old man warner and several others round here, you seem to have alot to vent about. Do you feel like you are living in a vacume? Do you feel the need to talk trash cause that what you think see? Just curious why people go on as they do in on-line communities spewing like they think they no it all.

Auset, I am not surprised that other people would have such varing points of view, music like communcation is going to effect everyone uniquly to thier particular filters, but one thread remains true and that is to your authenticity with your art, however people take that is going to be a vast and varried as the stars. When a resonance occurs with your art to another in a meaningful way it is a blessed event, so take encouragement from that.

Old man Warner puts himself up to be knocked down ; you really believe we have a sweet old gentleman tuning in to IAC with his cliched one-liner and no other agenda??? He welcomes the exposure as do many other artists who venture into this forum with provocative, promotional and pompous or pretentious posts.

I pick on no-one, I just observe, comment and interact. If I was to be picky I would say :
It's you're not your
It's around not round
It's a lot not alot
It's vacuum not vacume
It's because not cause
It's not '"that what you think see"
It's know not no.
It's Gloria not Gregg

You obviously don't appreciate alternative humor or creative imagination. I am a chameleon who adapts to the surface of anywhere I land, I am bored, I am bolshy, I am Spartacus.

Yes, and I choose not to represent myself as perfect because I am not and neither are you. What anyone chooses to represent is going to be thier creative point of view in the moment if it be humor or not. All we can do is state our point of view, as each person interprets how they see the world.. however if people would take responsibility for thier perceptions as our own, there would be allowance for our indivuality without the need to be right... so there, and I am probably wrong with everything I just said... hmm weather I'm wrong or right, I belong....

But sometimes you and I are perfect and other times we chose to be imperfect because that's how we want to appear. Then there are times when we are not perfect because we don't understand or agree with the concept or we are lazy or we just don't care. Sometimes we are perfect in our eyes and not in the eyes of the World.

Perceptions are not feelings that we need to take responsibility for, we do not own, control or chose them and we are allowed to have them changed by other people.

I understand that you are confused sometimes, I am usually confused by your reasoning but I admire your effort.

.. and I experience perceptions as feelings, so we are different - and it's okay. :-)

I am not seeking your admiration, and although confusion is part of life.. I feel quite at peace.. I wish the same for you - however you choose to present yourself. I won't to be able to continue the dialogue as I am involved in a project, in case you should feel negleted when I do not reply. Enjoy your time here.
