Anyone using Periscope?
Last night a guy came to the Friday Music Night I’ve been booking and hosting for 11 years. Three acts, original, acoustic music. Singles or duos usually. Crowd size varies from a handful to full capacity (about 45).

He’s got a smartphone on a little steadicam rig and he broadcast the whole performance on Periscope.com in real time. The online audience ranged from a few to over 70 people, somewhere out there in the world. And they were posting comments throughout.

I’m seeing real possibilities with this. I hear when John Mayer occasionally streams on here he gets over 1 million viewers. And some no-names who are creating a buzz on Periscope are making a nice living from it.

I’m thinking of doing my next CD release in a small space with about 20 friends and stream it on Periscope with lots of build up in advance to promote it.

Anyone have any tips or experience (good or bad) with Periscope?

I have seen people use that system at gigs, a few years ago , pretty cool ,guess I should hook up and learn how it works....I now someone up in Kamloops who does it and need to touch base with him although he might be in OZ, although I have his FB hookup, and might skype him ,see if I can track the guy down
