Collabs...Sometimes you get a Gem
I have a portable recording unit that now collects dust. Most of my early music was produced on it. Actually some of my best stuff. One of my instrumental songs I called “Guen”. Never did anything with it until a few weeks ago. I went to find it on my portable AW16g machine and it was gone. This meant that I couldn’t separate the guitar and mandolin tracks. I only had the last mix that was on my computer.
When I wrote this piece, I had envisioned a fine lady back during midieval times dancing in a courtyard spinning with arms extended holding fine silk scarfs……..
Recently Dolores of Shoe City Sound asked me if I could play a track on one of her songs. We both would help Bryon Tosoff with tracks from time to time, and I thought sure why not. As a matter of fact, I said lets trade projects. So, I sent “Guen” to Dolores and Judy to put their ideas to that song. Turns out Dolores loves that kind of music and that period, so it worked out great!
SCS added all the percussion, all the synths, and mixed everything beautifully! The production is exquisite!! All WITHOUT being able to adjust any of my previous recording.
Dolores tells me that she’s almost ready for me to lay down a few tracks on her song. I just hope I can bring to light her vision of what she wants.

By the way, I just got a new Gretsch for Christmas!! Sweeeeeet!

Thanks for that Duane! Congrats on the station add to Desperado Vol 2, and thanks Richard, for the station add and the nice words :) It was so much fun working on this tune - such beautiful song writing and playing. I absolutely see the medieval dance every time I hear it. I'm so looking forward to hearing the guitar tracks for our next tune - I'll consider that Gretsch a Christmas present for us too!
