ON THE WINGS OF OUR DREAMS
It is such a great honour and privilege to have “THE COWBOY SONG” nominated for a Golden Kayak award as BEST COUNTRY SONG and to be one of the 2008 GOLDEN KAYAK NOMINEES.

I would like to extend my sincere and humble thanks and appreciation to my nominator(s) and to all who have given myself and Paula and the guys in the band such incredible support since our arrival here at IAC just a little over one year ago. The friendships that have resulted remain one of the greatest rewards that I have experienced since seriously beginning my journey down this amazing musical highway just a few short years ago.

I owe so very much to the very talented musicians in “The Legendary Bear Creek Band”: Ray Lyell - acoustic, electric and bass guitar (as well as producer and arranger of my debut album), Gary Borden - lead guitar, Ken Baird - piano, and Steve Petrie - pedal steel guitar and fiddle. For not these amazing guys, I would not be here.

Whether a Golden Kayak nominee or not, we are truly all winners here at IAC. The Golden Kayak awards are not a competition, they are a reflection of how we are seen and heard in the eyes and ears of our peers - a mirror of ourselves so to speak. We are already “winners”, if you will, by virtue of having arrived here on the wings of our own dreams. And we have been truly blessed to be able to speak this incredible language of music, the language that lets us speak freely and openly to anyone, anywhere in the world.

And how very fortunate we are that the powers that be here at IAC have created this awesome web site and vehicle for us to travel around the world in. No amount of words or thanks can ever show the gratitude, respect and admiration that I have for all at IAC, including each and every artist here, many of whom I am so very honoured and blessed to call “friend”.

When I took that proverbial fork in the road and in my life a few short years ago, I never would have dreamed in a million years that it would see me standing here today in this unbelievable place amidst this amazing and incredibly talented group of peers.

Try as I may, time will simply not provide me with the opportunity to comment personally to each of my fellow Golden Kayak nominees, so to each of you, please accept this as my sincere congratulations on your success and on following your dreams to this very honoured and special place and time.

In closing I would like to wish each and everyone much success and happiness in the further pursuit of your dreams and in your life.

To my fellow Golden Kayak nominees, what an honour it is to be standing here among you all … Good Luck, God bless and God Speed.

Neil

Neil, how beautifully expressed! The friendship & mutual respect here at IAC is far above any other website I have seen.

I wish you all the best, in music and in life. Your honesty demands it and your respect will earn it.

Peace & love.
