Just sharing the latest video i've done to my song 'Willow' which i've also uploaded as a song to IAC
Shot mainly in the local pub after many drinks lol..

Great fun! Love the song and wish that pub were in my neighborhood. This song has such great mass appeal. It has a bouncy, fun, singable quality and I love when everyone was singing along with the doot-do-do-do part. You're as good a video maker as you are a songwriter. Great work. You're a natural talent.
Are you an XTC fan? This song felt like it had their influence.
By the way, what was tha creepy thing hanging from the tree? And how come your pub has alligators?

Tom..Thanx alot for that...Its amazing fun making videos-I enjoy it almost as much as much as doing the music if i'm honest
Its such a fun artform..Conceptualising the whole thing,seeing n experimenting with what images work dramatically/rythmically/narratively with different parts of the song
I only use Windows Movie Maker (which most film makers say is a piece of crap lol ) but its simple to use - and i've got no ambition beyond making cheap n cheerful lofi vids for my songs anyway - so it suits me fine..
The 'doo-doo-yeh yeh yeh' part in the video i just got the people in it to sing accapella n fitted it in after -they'd never heard the song
I kinda appreciate XTC from a distance -They're a good band - and theres a few tracks of theres i really love -but i wouldn't say i was a big fan or anything really..
Maybe its that we're both influenced by alot of the same 60s/70s music and that comes thru..
The ancient tree with the bra on that featured in the first chorus is a white -leaved oak in The Malvern Hills....Its on a ley line apparantly - and is about 700 years old ..Its considered this really sacred tree by pagans..There's love letters,ribbons,messages - and yes that bra ! -which people give as offerings to it..
Was a really cool tree f'sure :)
Steve...Well i believe in reincarnation - so definitely don't belive in the traditional Christian concept of Hell or that 'we all end up below' in that way...
We create our own heaven n hell imho..
The first verse of the song i think you're referring to= i was picturing a kinda cynical atheist saying we 'all end up below' meaning (she) is thinking we have no soul or spirit and are nothing but our bodies..
I definitely don't belive that - and the 'i don't know' in the song was put in more 'cos it fit the feel of the music
Intuitively (like you) i DO 'know' we live on after we die..
Love the poem too btw :)

Really made me feel great----, reminds me of the" local" we went to in Kings Cross, just off the main drag yet had a country feel
Steve you have a natural gift with the camera as well as a fine Pop song which I will be humming for the rest of the day

This song and video encapsulates everything I love about real indie artists - good production, completely unpretentious, great fun, and fantastic atmosphere and all done on a shoestring! Wonderful.
