Love's Dangerous-Indies Top 10
Love's Dangerous is featured on Indies Top 10 since its been enjoyed by the djs at songplanet.com and been very succesful and #1 there..
I've got no idea how many people listen-but the shows actually got a producer as well as a presenter-so i'm hoping its more than 5 lol
Its weird hearing a smattering of the succesful 'indie' songs from round the net featured there-and realising how totally and completely a song like love's dangerous dosn't fit in-both stylistically and productionwise.....
I think i could sense the DJ wince when he had to introduce it lol

Anyways,i'm very glad it sounds different-as the other songs played seemed generally about as far removed from what i like artistically as its possible to get...

Congrats Steve .... I'm glad your sound is just the way it is...

Love's Dangerous is a GREAT song and deserves to be heard by the masses...

DJ's just aren't used to the good stuff yet ... maybe you've opened their ears a bit ...

I saw no feature to skip songs on the player and had to bail out of the first one after a minute or two. Too predictable.

So I went to your page and re-listened to L's D there. Yeah I can imagine how different it would sound if the other eight were like the first one. (Guy had a good voice tho')

Sorry I was too impatient to endure the entire process, but it's always great to see your talent get a bit of recognition Steve.

Congratulations Steve,

I had a quick trawl around the site after following your link and it seems a bit confusing to me but maybe i'm just being impatient as I want to get out into the sun !!!

Anyway..it's great news... a great song and well deserved

Sam,Anjuli,Hugh,Brendan..Thanks for your support and gracious thoughts...Appreciated :)

Terry..The first one was actually the best one! lol...
Love's Dangerous was about 8th on the show- before then its a celebration of the 'best' of (generally) american 2008 guitar music..Emo,insipidly bland americana n corporate cookie-cutter pop/rock...All pro produced/performed-all totally unlistenable to me..

This is obviously the most popular kind of music with most people-which means i think i hate most people....

I've got 2 choices..

I can get really angry about it-and waste loads of energy writing stuff here-which dosn't change anything or anyones ideas-as people like what they like anyways lol

Or i can play my stations here and go surfing at youtube and listen to 60s n 70s music looking for the magic..
Finding music rich in imagination n melody-that breathes,is evocative, generous-spirited,quirky,beautiful,free,transcendent,individual,strange-has SOMETHING etc

Yeh..that definitely sounds better..:)

Why support modern MacDonalds man with his gameboy eyes n corporation skies, when you don't have to?

I don't know if this is worth mentioning here but IAC was invited to be a part of that site and actually were for about a month or so before we decided to pull the plug. It was extra work for our volunteers for IAC to participate on a regular basis and their traffic didn't seem to justify it. Also their podcast at the time gave everyone who subscribed if they wanted it a free download of all the songs. Also, most of the other 9 sites participating (with their charts) we thought were vastly inferior in quality of tunes to IAC so it didn't really put what we're doing here in a more favorable light.

Hi folks - This is Edward Galt, Producer of Indies Top 10.

I wanted to chime in to clarify a few things.

Yes IAC was with us for a few months and we were quite disappointed when they left. The music available on the site is incredible.

We would like to point out that we don't choose the music, we select from what musician's find acceptable - at most sites they are the ones placing them on the charts - your peers. Although we do carry a variety of music, which may not appeal to all listeners, we try to cut a wide path to appeal to most. We never critique the music or do reviews, nor the quality of other websites. We feel every site offers it's uniqueness, as every artist does.

Our goal is to bridge a gap between listeners and Indie Artists to give them more exposure.

Steve, great song, wonderful job. Thank you for being on the show.

Toby, best wishes as always.

This is becoming an interesting blog.

Good to hear from Edward Galt -- nice response, man.

I can also relate to G' Indoors ("had a quick trawl around the site... seems a bit confusing to me") FYI, Edward and Toby, I found both your home pages somewhat esoteric in their presentations when I first came to your sites.

Please excuse this tiny bit of criticism. I was a publisher for 12 years and have spent countless hours revising page layouts to be as inviting as possible. I find most of the stuff on the internet to be quite "unfocused" visually. Don't get me wrong I have great admiration for anyone operating a musical website! And I always enjoy myself.

However, my little suggestion is to study magazine layouts for the best way to present your info.

Here's a perfect example:

An Engaging Page
