SONG WRITING PREDITIONS?
HEY,

SOMEONE JUST SENT ME A LINK TO A SITE ADVERTISING MUSIC SERVICES. SOMEHOW I CAN'T EVER IMAGINE USING THE ONE I'VE COPIED BELOW.

MAYBE I'M WRONG HOWEVER AND THERE IS SOME SORT OF PERFECT, PREDICTABLE FORMULA FOR SONG WRITING. WOULD YOU BE TEMPTED TO PAY FOR THIS ADVICE OR DO YOU THINK THIS IS AN INSTINCTIVE SKILL OR, LIKE US, WOULD YOU GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO COMPLETELY REVERSE THE PREDICTABLES.

Can You Learn to Tell The Future Of a Song?

In one hour or so, you can learn how to be a "prophet" -- see into the future -- and tell all these things about almost any song:

What's the most likely chord for the song to start on…

What's the most likely chord for the song to end on…

What the three most likely chords in any song are…

What the second chord in a song will probably be…

What the 4th, 5th, and 6th most likely chords in any song are…

What chord follows a 7th chord 85% of the time…

Why a knowledge of "consecutive dominant 7ths" can revolutionize your understanding of what's happening in any given song…

Why a knowledge of the "circle of 4ths" gives you a huge edge about what chords are coming next…

If one writes on an acoustic guitar and makes use of a capo to change the key to suit ones vocal, all of the musical theory in their services goes out the window :)

...and don't forget those open tunings! HAHAHA

It almost reads like a football betting system ad!

That is pure rubbish! "The most Likely" ???? Yes, if you know what Key you are in and have a knowledge of music theory...or at least chords and how they work. you can know this...if your interstested, there are many books on the subject.

Learning "Music Theory" may help you write...but its important to note The Beatles knew none of this when they wrote their classics. It may help you to become a better musician, or a better arranger in that you will have more tools in your box. I would not suggest "Overpaying" some service company for this info. Its not magic, and the knowledge is out there for relativley little cash!

I predict that I will never write another song again.

There is so much good free advice out there. Paying for it doesn't necessarily make it better advice. My thinking is keep it simple. Most of the songs that have touched me the most are the simplest. The more you write, the more will come to you. Mistakes create new tunes and rhythms. If you write a song one way, try to create it differently the next. Have fun - for every 10 songs, ideas I start, I finish one.

All those 5ths, 7ths etc...lose me,(I'm not that edumacated :-)) I just go with what I like.

all this is M very HO
