To American Lesley Jane
I was intrigued by the title of your song 'Bucket O' Piss' and decided to give it a spin. I confess I didn't know what to think at first, but when it hit the first chorus I laughed out loud.

The song roared along like a runaway freight train, and with all the cut-ins and everything going on I kept waiting for it to go off the rails - but it didn't. The whole song is just......right......somehow......

It's obvious there is little if any commercial potential here, but just as obvious that you did the tune solely for the pure joy of creating.

So ALJ, my hat's off to ya. Don't ever stop.

Don

Wow.

Thank you Don & Rhythm Kings.

Yes, absolutely it's for it's own sake.
The short paragraph, Lesley.

I gave up on 'being commercial' as such;
I try to make stuff that's catchy, yeah,
but the work suffers if I try to 'fit it' into any particular mold.
I let the song be what it is.
Roger Daltrey sang "It's the singer not the song who helps the music move along"
but big surprise, he's a singer. That statement could make any singer
think that they are more important than the word. I disagree.
Without songs, singers are idiots trying to rap.

The idea for this particular song, just hit me one day,
I imagined Dylan, singing 'bucket o' piss bucket o' piss, how'd it ever come to this?'
and I laughed myself silly.

Pretty much all my songs, be they ALJ or Bsex,
are all about the joy of creating.

(as for other entities I've dabbled in, eh, that only goes so far...)

I've gotten pretty exacting with arrangements,
and yeah, the chorus does have several elements kicking in just for that.

Thank you again for this post, it's a wonderful thing for me.
God Bless you Don and Rhythm Kings.

Now to see what the heck I can say if anything
about my new ALJ song "ALL THE HORSES"
which is intended to encourage people to get up off their keisters and vote.

I hear they're giving out Free Marijuana at the Voting Polls!
I'm there Early.

Whoopie Doopie...

I wanna put in a second for Lesley's music. I'm finishing up singing on a new song he wrote which is pretty great. My singing often takes a lot of heat so being asked to sing on these worthy songs I find to be an honor. Father Time and BEATLESEX have put together a page of pretty good yet very diverse songs.

I am totally stoked with the stuff Father Time and I and the boys are doing.

We began at damned good, and we just keep betting betterer and betterer.

It's sort of exciting.

I'm into it.
Thanks for the compliment, and don't let others define what it is you
mean to accomplish. I keep telling you, you're better than you think.
I wouldn't work with you otherwise. Keep on point. We got this.

We're only just getting started, Father Time and BEATLESEX are.

I just put a post here on the pipeline,
complete with disclaimer and everything!

And my new ALJ song. Which rocks insanely well,
seriously, twice around the block before you even see the blur of flying feet.

ALJ is one of the most prolific and consistently great songwriters I have heard here. He puts magic in every song and it is a joy to listen to his work.

Much Respect,
Stoneman

so anyway, I finished that song, we're releasing it in about 10 hours. It's a very unusual song. I decided earlier today that the best description was it's a combination of Beach Boys, Righteous Bros and Jimmy Webb.
