Well of course you can. You are. It's happening as we speak. Betterer and Betterer.

We all deal with doubts, the thing is, to do it anyway.
And Keep Doing It. You can't imagine the years of trying and trying
it took for me to learn the bit I know.

Great song that, Love In The Dark,

I posted on your page about it, but I don't know if you saw.

So I'll post this here, knowing you'll probably see it here.

Would you mind if I did a cover of that one? It's okay if you'd rather I do not.
I'll still think of it as the default is you would prefer I do not,
but if you are okay with the idea, please least a comment on
any of my 'big 3' pages as it were,

American Lesley Jane,
Elvis Lesley,
BEATLESEX.

Preferably, American Lesley Jane.
So I don't have to check all bloody three.
Even if it's 'no you bloody idiot don't be covering me songs!!'
which I suppose I might deserve, I mean, it's like yeah, 'write my own',
sorry if this was a bother to hear, Idiot/Savant and I never quite escape
the idiot part, even being an occasional genius. My apologies, Dear.

I hear the sound of your soul, I know it well,
you are a soul who's been around for a while,
so remember what I said, I'm weary, I keep doing it though.
You too, keep at it, always keep at it.
And you never have to feel you can't get hold of tracks,
because I will always be willing to help you there,
and I see a number of us here at IMP feel the same way.

Okay? I Wish You Happiness, Love Eternal,
And REALLY Knowing Your Whole Schtick.
You are well on your way to precisely that, Dear.

Anything I can ever do for you, Francesca Tamellini
(that's a great name, I think)
you just say so, and I am telling you that you will not have to ask me twice.

~L, there you are Mystery Lady....

almost makes me wanna come up with a song called Mystery Lady,
there sure has to be a song in that, it's a very good title, isn't it.

Well thank you Bryon.

I can't say that I've 'thought about it thought about it',
but I suppose the thought has crossed my mind
but I still haven't 'thought about it' more 'haven't thought about thinking about it'....

does that answer your question? Perhaps not.
I might do one, if along came a newspaper who asked or something.

So far, not so much.
But truly, thank you for saying that, I indelibly appreciate it!

Well Bryon, mostly, my songs are my blog. Funny word that, 'blog'...
Sort of onomatopoeia... you know, someone blorgs out all these words,
much like I'm known to do so I can see why you suggest such a thing,
in a big sound shape like "BLOGGGGG".

And Kellogg's Best To You.

So, as I said, to Mystery Lady here,
and am now again mentally addressing,
(I do that, you know, talk to people in me head all the time, they just don't listen)

I assume, you prefer I don't cover your song,
and it's just as well,
I'm sure I'd have to change the key,
and of course, this changes everything.
Do you know what I mean when I say this changes everything?
That's good, so maybe one day you'll explain it to me,
or I may never know. Clearly.

Anyway, I do want you to know, Young Lady,
that you do indeed inspire me to be as 'on me game' as I can muster
at such a late great date as I am in my old fartdom...

So I came up with this song,
standard disclaimer, any similarity between person or persons or furry animals or secrets of quantum mechanics because we're all smarter than all of you,
that's why,
living, dead, both, neither, combinations unforeseen of living and dead,
including vast diets of macaroni and cheese and bad television,

which is, even though I'm an old croaking bastard
(You can literally HEAR, me croaking, a mighty croak indeed in this song)
so basically, this is me,
after I have my ass handed to me in short form
by a recent Francesca Tamellini record,
(great name, never change it no matter who you bloody well marry)

(in fact, consider making them, change it to yours, okay,
not everyone would do that... maybe we don't hold tight to that clause...
but if there were a Santa Clause, I supposed we'd rather know than not know,
unless this is the quantum probability where Secretariat didn't win and....
Oh. Balls on toast. It is. Hmmm.)

Nevermind...

But look, you did sort of wake me up with a real song enough
that I went "Oh I can't be writing this same old crap, let's have a Good One!"
and I came up, with this.
It's probably perfectly awful, I'm sure it's years longer than certainly
you wanted it to be, time alone proves that math,

but if you ever want to Join Forces,
Because Uncle Samantha Wants You,

well write to my Fortress of Solitude,
you have the e, it's on me page if not,
watch your weight and everyone else's motives.
In fact, fuck your weight, just watch everybody else
like a bloody hawk, that's all to it. Easy Peasy Japanesy.

You think this is verbose? Ha.
Wait till I throw in the lyrics then,
and link of course, be a gentleman, best you can,
even if you are over a thousand years old and get cantankerous at times...

What. Yeah, I'm easily that old, older.
You think you're an old soul?
Dude, you have no idea.

But I can still rock, rock n roll keeps me young,
which is good, because the rest of everything
made me fuckall older than noise.

~L

So, right. Somewhat of a recap.
Kneecaps, and I got two of 'em. Now you know. Don't say you don't,
you impudent whelp.

Well Dear, I AM a Big Dumb Bunny,
and they're allowed to say such nonsense, ask anyone.

So, if you wanna like, make brilliant Lennon/McCartney,
Rogers/Hammerstein sort of new great songs,
you know, we could team up, have a go, you know the drill by now, I see.

If not, no boingy boing big one, not at all, see if it fazes me one bit.

I'm not only old, I am technically dead for about four years now,
I just kept moving.... fucking fooled them ALL.

It's true. Works wonders for the complexion.

Ta, Darling... Be good, and if you can't be good, what?
Be f___ing accurate, that's correct. There'll be a quiz,
but worry not, I already forgot everything,
and now we can speak of this no more just like the grown ups do. x

-------------------------------------------------------------

WIFE

(that's enough-a rehearsal)

Oh...

Once
Once in my life
I had a friend
And her name was Wife
Her name was Wife

And
I
Her husband of dreams
Her teenager of fate
She picked up after me
As I split at the seams

Oh, we were young and we were free
They couldn't damper
You and I running through fields of youth
Like Rabbits, scamper scamper
Now you wonder Dear yes you do
I see you remem-mem-member

Would I recognize today
If you came my way?
Wife, life is over
Since you said we're over
Now I'm sleepwalking again
As I will to the end
White Cliffs of Dover
Till I'm
Falling over and under the Moon

Hey now,

You look perfectly bored
Unamused and ignored
It's a world full of fools
Weren't you warned?
Oh

I am tenured and old
Seem to do what I'm told
But if Hope is a bust
I'll pack and go
Oh

All I am belongs to you
'Cause you made me
Anything for you that I can ever do
Count on it, Baby
Don't look now
But I can see right through the mystery

Lady, would I recognize today
If you came my way?
Wife, life is over,
Since you said we're over
Now I'm sleepwalking again
Heading for the end
White Cliffs of Dover
Till I've
Fallen over and under the Moon...

Peekaboo...
I see you....

Then, ironically,
That's where I wake up,
In the I.C.U....

Oh....

Regrets,
I've waxed them all
Like fruit in a big bowl
Rest assured,
The fault was never with you;
I'm a Retard Asshole

Just doing my thing
While my pretty girl sings
Plucking on my heart strings
Harpo says *pling*...
Oh

Chico soaks his hand in the sink
He don't care what they think
That's enough practice
Who cares if I stink?

Oh

I'm a bit surprised to see you return here
You who were go glad just to escape
Seemingly last year
How in all that time did we manage to
Fail to dry each other's tears?

Time can conjugate a verb
At least, that's what I heard
I'm Magic Mutton
With a Big Belly Button
Here's your name across the sky
Should I dot the i?
Constantinople, naive but still noble
Fill my notebook
Sing the song... like it's not too long
Preacher or Teacher
Again, pleased to meet you
Now I'm sleepwalking again
Till I reach the end
White Cliffs of Dover
Till I've fallen over

Write your name across the sky
That's my reason why

Wife
Life is over
Since you
Left me
Over and under the Moon

Oh

No, I was not trying hijack your thread, Old Woman.

(but thank you for calling me Young Man, that was unexpected)

No, I was simply trying to pitch the idea of becoming a hit songwriting duo,
no more, no less. And already, I see the idea was another puff of smoke.
Not to worry.

Seriously, I've had the mind for quite some time,
that it's very possible that I make my biggest mark in this world,
as part of a combo, of some sort. My apologies for wasting your time,
and causing you to feel as though I were hijacking your thread.

Francesca's song is GREAT.
Everybody Should Go Listen To It.

There. All better now? Be well. Bye now. ~L

Young man, I haven't been called that, oh in a long time.
Dashing Blade. Heavens. That's a new one.
Takes one to know one,
takes amazing to fathom amazing, is my point,

so, verily verily I say unto you, Friend,

try not to ever doubt your ability to work wonders when you stick at it,
and, even if you ever do, try not to doubt God who made you,
because I'm pretty sure, there is some sort of plan.

You rock, you're excellent,

May you climb ever higher, getting more and more betterer and betterer,

Francesca Tamellini Is FOREVER, and She Rocks,

and you deserve Great Things.

And seriously, if you haven't heard what the fuss is about,
you should go do so like now.

Thank you again for 'dashing blade' that put a smile on my face,
I'm a dottering old fool who at least knows something
about how to focus himself.

You are the Future, Francesca. And You Have ARRIVED.

Hi Francesca. Yeah, that is funny that we saw that same odd attribute in that photo.
Guess we both have an eye for the abstract...
I really thought he had his hair---long hair---tied in what they now call a
'man bun'... with it bunched up on the top of the head,
which looks awful, I don't know why any guy would do that,
and I'm a guy named Lesley Jane for cryin' out loud...

meanwhile, as you did say I may cover it,
I'm thinking perhaps my next ALJ project will be my read on your Love In The Dark,
and with that, well of course I'll release it on my page,
but once it's out, if you want, I can send you the mp3,
and you can if you want sell it from your site.
My pleasure. Feel free. I'm not selling it from mine. But you can from yours
if you want. All you need is a paypal account...

okay, that's about it,
I may have asked this before,
is haggis as awful as it sounds? 'Cause wow, it sounds hideous.

That's the smartass response.....

Now to actually respond to the question.
Grits, as in Hominy Grits? had 'em when I was a kid,
not too bad... had 'em once down south in Virginia, with gravy on it,
that was interesting, but I'm not clamoring to have more...

as for haggis, anything no matter how well intended made out
of a sheep's stomach lining, is a recipe for me to go to McDonalds instead,
unless, over by you, one can routinely order a McHaggis....

It's a Good Time for the Great Taste of McHaggis.

Yyyeah.

Okay, so anyway, the cover of your song came out pretty decent....

I'll have that out soon. Probably do a Pipeline thread about it...

And wow,

Scott I'm a bit astounded that you don't like Guacamole,
do you not like all Mexican food, or just that?
'cause that's pretty good with all that,

although, actually since I stopped drinkin, I stopped going to
this place my late wife and I used to always go,
that has the best margaritas, and amazing Mexican food...
and they routinely serve it up with the guacamole...

but when I make (very excellent) Mexican food,
(like, just made chicken fajitas this past week, I kid you not)
I do not generally made guacamole or even buy it
(it's easier just to buy a little tub of it, but I already make it amazing,
and we do put lots of sour cream on it, it's fine... we really don't need it..)

I do like it though, never heard anyone say they don't like it.

Hominy grits reminded me of Cream of Wheat,
only Cream of Wheat is probably preferable to me.

I don't like refried beans either. My favorite thing to order in our local Mexican restaurant is one of those taco salads in a shell, the ground beef option. We even have those shells we make at home. I get the sour cream on the side because they put too much on. I get the guacamole and refried beans on the side to give to other family members.

Hmm.

Actually I will never buy 'refried beans',

and when I have them even at our old favorite Mexican Restaurant,

(which I will just now reveal to the world, as 5 Burros, in Forest Hills, NY, USA,
so they get a free plug)

well even 5 Burros who makes all their food great,

I still prefer my own refried beans!

I actually make 'em myself,

To Fry And Fry Again.

That's the name of the game.

Oh I make 'em good, you'd possibly like mine.
I love 'em, we all do here.

They ask what's for dinner, if I say Mexican anything,
they know it's gonna be good.

But I draw the line at making guacamole,
if I really wanted it, I'd buy a tub.
And you really have to eat it fast, 'cause it goes all grey too fast,
you really gotta snarf it up while it's green,

I don't bother with it these days.
I do re-fry my own beans though. I've never had better.
