Credit where it is due
I've recorded a track of a traditional song, based on a version by Nina Simone. Online, the song is credited to Ms Simone, but I am sure it is just her arrangement.
How should it be credited? How about 'trad, based on an arrangement by Nina Simone'. Would that do?

Actually you should look up who wrote the song
and credit that person(s) (Words & Music By).
"Arrangement" credit is additional if you want to,but not necessary

she said it's a traditional, I think that covers it.
