Recognition for an artist/musician /songwriter etc is the most important thing.
Ive been a musician from the moment i met creativity. Been hovering around the usual mainstream sites like ReverbNation & SoundCloud for over 7/8 years and haven't really progressed the way ive always wanted, ignoring all the dangling carrot pay daft money promotion rubbish. sitting never short of top 20 top 10...chart whatever, and. for what.? never earned a penny. always just thought hey if people like what i do then i must be doing something right so i guess. recognition is a gain, if not a personal thing... so here download my stuff for free? . But to get paid for what you do(give up the day job? ??) would certainly be a bonus. I was introduced to this site by a musician friend, i hope it will be a progressive stepping stone from ones i presently reside on.

We feel that this is one of the things we do different than the corporate sites. The site actually listens to the music here and tries to distinguish the quality stuff. At the same time the users create stations and often give recognition to many other artists that we don't have room to feature.

Thanks Scott, still finding my way on here, but yes I'll create a station aswell as listen to others and comment. Some acts so far are awesome and deserve merit and its good to hear a different sway of music from others.

Welcome Sapphire Wolf,

I hope you find what you are looking for. I am ancient now, but I was fortunate in my younger days to get some recognition so I hope that you will too in the near future.

I have to say though, that unfortunately artists don't always get recognition and I don't believe that recognition or financial reward should influence the artist's creativity. I think that we do what we do because we love doing it.

Some of us are fortunate enough and smart enough to be able to make a living (I am not one of them) from their art, while some only get recognized long after they are gone and I am not in a hurry to be one of those either!!

I think that art is mostly about giving of us by sharing what we create. Some people will love our work, some will hate it, some will like it enough to buy it, but it should not matter too much in my humble opinion, so keep up your good work!!

Welcome to the pipeline. The community here is pretty friendly overall and Scott is very helpful if you need any support issues he gets things done right away.

I have not made my way to your page yet but I look forward to hearing what you have to offer.

Thanks TSC, for the welcome, I am impressed by how this website is rolling and it is without doubt. a far more friendlier environment than the ones i have been used to. It certainly gives a sense of comfort and strong community,which i have been witness to recently. My pebble in the pond which kinda rippled this conversation too now, was i guess a rashful aired frustration... i guess at times as artists /musicians we stray from what really matters which is music. To create it, share and collaborate it and to cast our ear to others interpretation. Simply because music is a collective force unto itself and it should be enjoyed.
I thank again Vincenzo, for his wise words and for reminding me what the true purpose of music is.

Community is important to us. Community is what got me into indie music in the first place. I think one of the saddest things about the state of indie music right now is that it's been taken over by these corporate entities that are so single-minded in their profiteer motives that they simply refuse to even provide a place for their artists to interact because they seem to feel this will hurt their profits.

Blessed to have you here. You may find that there are many refugees from those corporate sites you mentioned here. Some of us played the role of sucker and others ave found alternate ways to earn money in the industry. But almost all of us are very supportive of independent music. Looking forward to hearing yours when I return later today.

Mr. Wolf! I read your post about 2:00 am last night and looked at your artist page. I did not have time to listen, but your songs really intrigue me. I love Ambient Music and have several of those on my station "Groovy and 60's Style."

I did not listen because it was late and I was writing a post about my most incredible experience with my featured indie folk duo. It was part 1 and part 2 is coming tonight.

My next station will be called "Groovy Ambient and Instrumental" and your music may play a major role in it. I want to cut a deal with you; a "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" deal as it were. This helps my artists and helps you. No money is invested; only a bit of time and music listening skills; lol!

This is a really busy time of year both personally, online, and here at IMP with the 2017 Golden Kayaks looming. So this won't happen right away and very gradually. I'll be in touch sir!

Ash Swan is your real name? Do you usually go by that or Sapphire or Mr. Wolf? I am Michael or Mike or MLT2 Michael or WWMM Michael. (I'll explain more later about the last two.)

Hi there Francesca! After listening to the Kayak Big 25, I will add two more of your songs to "Groovy and 60's Style." Then I will shuffle the order of my songs and play yours sooner in the mix. As the #3 station I am already in the Exosphere (Google that), but you might be taking me higher and higher.

By the way, be sure to watch the new music video from Whitherward tomorrow on Friday the 13th. It is to their song "Deaf, Dumb, and Blind" and should be released about 10:30 am Mountain Time as they are currently touring Colorado! (4:30 pm in the U.K?) The song is awesome!!! I'm certain that Ashley and Edward will freak me out once again!

Thank you Ash! But do you have a second choice of a name I can call you? I am in love with a woman named Ash (Ashley) and that won't work. I'm also in love with a woman named Lenore, and she is my wife of 36 years next month.

We can start our music transaction this weekend if you wish. The bottom line is that I want you to get to know Ashley and Edward aka WHITHERWARD! Scott, I want to legally change my name from MLT2 Michael to WWMM Michael (WhitherWard Music Monster Michael).

I have a new PERMANENT station photo! I will change it temporarily if MLT ever makes it to the States AND Omaha in order to give them PR. I have an idea for them I want to pitch to Michaela first.

I'll need your help to launch my 2nd IMP station named "Groovy Ambient." Give me 2 weeks and I'll be ready! If that interferes with the GK's we can do it even sooner or later. Thanks!

haha.... ok for you Mike call me Sapphire if its easier than relating a name too a personal trigger. I hopefully will find the time to listen and comment as requested, as my self employed job roll is somewhat time demanding, I will find time regardless.
Pleased you like "Summoner" you will find that most of my tracks are different or at least i try to make them that way. depending on the theme im trying to project, with my SapphireWolf personal signature that you may relate to Mike.
