"The Oracle" William J. Broad.
Right here
The story of the Oracle at Delphi, the ancient Greeks guiding light for hundreds upon hundreds of years.
Yes, I, too, had the info early on that the Delphic prophecies were just so much blather from controlling priests, and that the Oracle and her temple were just so much bs like the Pope's, and I, too read all that condemning stuff from the French excavators of the Delphic site, or at least, the testimony from their repeaters.
Interesting, how the physical evidence supports Plato and Plutarch's testimony so literally.

This fucking book kept me up all night just to get to the end. And that, when I was already stoned to the gourd and just ready to sleep it off.
Highly recommended.
