Ashes in the Sky
CH
the ashes are in the sky
rise from all the bridges you've burned
when it all falls down around you
tell me where is it you will turn
V1
you've built your caslte walls
laiden them all with stone
you built them up so high
that you can't see yourself anymore
when you look in the mirror
the reflection shows only ghosts
nothing could be clearer
than the mud that you have thrown
CH
the ashes are in the sky
rise from all the bridges you've burned
when it all falls down around you
tell me where is it you will turn
V2
when you look out on the meadows
the flowers all call out your name
but the bees are always buzzing
way down deep in your brain
the smoke in your eyes doesn't calm them
they bite and sting all the same
these memories they always find you
and bring you to your knees
OUT
when the ashes are in the sky
tell me where is it you will turn

I can feel the loneliness here, Ken. Although, for me I did not "burn" any of those bridges. I think it's more like "I let them fly away". You know how horrible and offensive all those "bricks and anchors" of ours can be at times. My "being merciful" does still come across as "being guilty" none-the-less! -M-

My use of "flying away" and “bricks and anchors” was making reference unto your song Never Let You Go. And as for that mood of loneliness which we speak of/from/to so often, I shall “reverence” that right... ”Hear”...
