Inspiration
one of my inspired writtings enjoy:

Moving Forward.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
The Way of Lao-tzu Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)

Imagine that you are a soldier in a mine field. There are mines left, right, and in back of you. The only step you can safely take is to move forward. How carefully do you think you step forward?

Imagine you are in a room. 6 feet in front of you is a doorway. You have 6 minutes to move forward through the door way. If you do not get through this door you will not survive. How would you place your steps to make sure you get through this door?

The human body is designed to move forward. Our feet and eyes and are designed for moving straight as the most efficient means of locomotion. Why then do we waste so much energy moving sideways, backwards, or crossways but not simply moving forward?
We as human beings thrive on our intellect. We have learned response and reaction. For instance, if you touch something hot and burn yourself you are not going to touch that same object again until your certain it’s cool. So why is it then that when a child who is learning to walk after they fall and hurt themselves continues to get up and try again? They know falling hurts. Logic would say stay on the ground its safe. Don’t do that again it hurts. We are compelled to get up. It is in our nature to move forward.

Looking into the past is a maze of hurts but some of us choose to live there. Some tragic circumstance has thrown us into rewind mode. We replay these events reliving past events and this can prevent us from taking the steps needed to move forward. These blows can be devastating and do take a toll upon our ability to function normally. The truth is that if you have survived such a tragedy your life will never be the same. No matter how long you stay in the wilderness of sorrow you are not going to bring life back to what it once was; nothing can. There is a time for mourning, there is a time for weeping there is a season for all things but eventually you do need to move forward.

Some of us become overwhelmed with the length of journey yet ahead. We are focused on what could happen in the future. We spin our hours away hoping and planning for the phantom that is tomorrow; by doing so fail to move forward. The only time we truly have is right now in this moment today.

My question is will you stand locked in the past, will you stay daydreaming of the future or will you take the time that has been given to you today to take one single step? You may need help and it’s ok to ask for help. You may be afraid and it’s ok to be afraid. The problem comes when we fail to take action. We become absorbed by circumstances that have blown us off course. We fail to plan before taking our steps and then wonder why we don’t get anywhere or go backwards.Take each step slowly and carefully when you move forward.

If you fall GET UP and try again. Take each step as it was the one that could save your life because maybe it can. Take each step with your feet upon solid ground do not walk upon shifting sands. Take each step knowing that you have done the only thing that you can. Move forward.

My girlfriend always says that the time to do something is just before you're ready. If you don't think you're ready to take that first step, it must be time.
