A Personal Message and Letter of Appreciation to the Members of IACMusic.com
Over the past several months I have found it necessary to reassess my involvement in KIAC Media, LLC and IACMusic.com including my role and position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the former and as President of the latter. As a result, on February 9, 2012 I tendered my resignation to the shareholders of KIAC Media, LLC effective February 15, 2012 from both positions including my position on the Executive Committee and as a Managing Member of KIAC Media, LLC.

Due to time and circumstances beyond my control I have been unable to implement and achieve all that I had hoped and planned to achieve for both companies for the benefit of the shareholders of KIAC Media, LLC and for the members of IACMusic.com. I worked diligently throughout the past year in an effort to achieve those goals in an efficient and transparent manner. In submitting my resignation I felt that the seeds for such goals had at least been planted and that they might eventually produce the desired results.

I believe that we have made substantial gains over the past year and that those gains had put IAC in a stronger and much improved condition than it was when I took over at the helm one year ago, and that they also would help in insuring that both IACMusic.com and KIAC Media, LLC were well-structured to continue to grow and expand in the coming months and years ahead for the benefit of all. At the moment the jury may be out on my success or failure in that regard. In any event time will tell. It always does.

As I mentioned in my letter of resignation to the shareholders of KIAC Media, LLC, until such time as a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KIAC Media, LLC have been elected and a new President of IACMusic.com has been appointed, Dave Walton, current Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KIAC Media, LLC will manage KIAC Media, LLC and IACMusic.com.

These are indeed difficult, challenging and greatly competitive times for the music industry and particularly for internet based music companies such as IACMusic.com and KIAC Media, LLC. Dedicated, committed and strong leadership in all respects is required to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

I wish to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of IACMusic.com as well as to the shareholders of KIAC Media, LLC for the opportunity to serve you and for the support, trust and confidence afforded me during my time as CEO of KIAC Media, LLC and President of IACMusic.com.

On behalf of Paula and The Legendary Bear Creek Band and the various guest musicians that have been featured on several of my songs I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for your support and friendship.

Thank you and best wishes for your health and happiness.

Yours very truly,

Neil w Young

Hey Neil.
Thanks for all of your efforts. I know that IAC had already lost a lot of members (through no fault of yours) before you took over at the helm. I know that I am not as active as I once was. But I am still here, mostly because of your presence. You did an admirable job trying to right the ship.
Hell, I think that it is probably largely because of your efforts that IAC is even still here.
Best of luck for your new album and for all of your future endeavors.

Thank you Glenn and your confreres at Lars Mars. I appreciate your post.

My standard M.O. is giving 100% to any project that I take on or in my involvement in any venture. No less was given to IAC. I hope it made a difference and if it did I would hope that it lasts.

Regards and best wishes.

Todd,

I am greatly humbled and honoured by your kind words of appreciation, confidence and loyalty. I cannot take all the credit though for bringing IAC back from the brink. I thought that we had fielded a pretty good team last year and that in addition to recovering some lost ground that we had made significant gains.

In departing my two roles I left what I felt were a few promising projects on the table. I hope and trust they will still see the light of day and be added to the site.

At the moment I do not know what if any role I might play going forward other than on my two artist pages and stations. I still have an interest in KIAC Media and as such also in IAC. I hope for nothing but the best for all.

Thanks again and best wishes.

Neil, I am grateful for all your hard work and wish you all the best. I love your songs and enthusiasm for the Indie scene. Thanks to you and IAC we all have been able to publish our music here for several years. The conceptual idea of IAC is a unique success, can’t be compared to any other site (regardless of number of members or web stats). If I published my music exclusively at Reverbnation, Ourstage, Myspace and others I would have probably stopped playing a year ago. Example: “Welcome to Neverland” was probably played 5 times via Reverbnation, while played 2500 times at IAC in February 2012 alone. You guys are terrific and attracted thousands of great artists here. Congratulations, thank you for everything and all the best to you and your family. EM GIEL

EM GIEL and Dolores, your words of kindness and support are heartwarming indeed and give a real and special meaning and value to all the work, effort and investment that has gone into the web site not only during my time at the helm over the past year but also in previous years.

Nothing would be more pleasing and rewarding than to see IAC move forward from here to continued and greater success. It holds yet untapped potential for all.

Thank you sincerely for your posts and best wishes always to you both.

Neil,

I trust that you already know of my high opinion of you and your contribution to to IAC but I want to join the other members in stating publicly how much I respect you as a person and how grateful I am that you worked so hard to save and improve a website that is much more than just another internet diversion. It's a community of real human beings and a home for their music. It's therapeutic value in bringing people together and providing a creative environment for indie music is beyond measure. What I dislike about other sites is the lack of a personal touch and the lack of humanity whereas IAC is the opposite. Here we are not just numbers or stats. Here we belong to a village filled with artists run by artists. I hope that it continues to grow and that you'll only be a stone's throw away from us when we need you. Knowing your passion for music and the success of IAC, I'm sure that your presence will be felt in a variety of ways. Good luck and may peace be with you.

Your friend,
Richard

Richard,

I appreciate your post so ardently written and expressed, and your friendship much more than words can say.

As for the web site, in somewhat of a snapshot manner summarizing the past year, it is greatly satisfying for me to see the way the site has evolved and turned around in such a positive way over the last twelve months. It speaks highly of the quality and character of the membership to have forged the community that IAC has become.

Take a bow yourself Richard for the valuable contribution that I see you making to this community and to the site on almost a daily basis, not only with the great music that you make but in other ways obvious to all.

I share your hope and the hope of many other members that IAC will continue to grow and to evolve into yet a larger and stronger world-wide community of artists and Starmaker members. Plans aimed at attracting such growth have been actively explored and pursued with some currently on the drawing board.

As for my being "only a stone's throw away", I expect that in addition to my two artist pages where I can be found, and on my stations, that I will not be too far away at any given time.

Again Richard, thank you sincerely for your heartwarming and most generous words, humbling indeed and appreciated immensely.

Much respect,

Neil

Neil,

I don't know you personally, but I have been around, and I appreciate the energy and love you have put into creating a music site that is also a community - it gives us a sense of belonging, as well as validation. You are to be commended.

I love the look and feel of the site, the intuitive way things work, and the many innovations such as user-created customisable stations, Hitline, Pipeline and all the rest.

I must say that you, Neil, have attracted a great depth of talent over the years, which is probably unmatched among music sites. I hope that those you leave behind to manage your site can live up to the high standards you have set.

I wish you the very best!

Duane,

I greatly appreciate you adding your voice here and for your most kind words and valued support.

In all fairness though, there were others deserving of credit working long and hard below deck while I was at the helm.

Having said that, I must say that the outpouring of support and benevolence here has been overwhelming and truly humbling. While I am looking forward to hopefully having more time available to give to my music and to my other responsibilities, I expect to still be here in one fashion or another on my two artist pages and stations. I trust too that plans for IAC's further growth and success will continue to unfold.

In any event Duane, you know where to find me. All the very best to you and your new band.

Much respect and happy trails,

Neil

Liars Club ~ Josh, Moose, Jordis and Corey,

Thank you so very much for your post and for your words of support and appreciation. Credit though for the concept and early development of IAC belongs to the founders and their efforts and initial investment.

My involvement came at a time when IAC appeared to be struggling for various reasons. My hope was that I could prevail and provide the site with needed stability as well as renewed strength through my efforts and further investment, and that through my presence in the roles that I played that I could offer some hope to the membership and shareholders for the future of IAC.

As I mentioned in my opening message and letter of appreciation here, these are difficult and very competitive times for internet based music companies. In passing the torch so to speak, dedicated, committed and strong leadership will be a prerequisite to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

I trust that the challenges will be met and I hope to be here to participate in the results.

Thank you for your friendship and kindness.

Best wishes with your music and all other endeavors.

Neil

I've only just returned today from my Africa trip (amazing and lots of interesting music recorded and played!).

I'm sorry to hear you're resigning as since you took the helm the whole place seems re-enlivened. I hope and pray that your good work is continued as I still have never found such an interactive and largely supportive music site as IAC. I love the combination of being able to put my own music up (sometimes in very rough form and other times finished) and get genuine feedback and also the huge fun I get from my three stations here - I hope to start a new world music station shortly and continue with the others.

Good luck with your own music (you're so prolific) and thanks for all the efforts you've put into IAC - I really noticed the difference - especially little things like welcoming new people etc - actually make a BIG difference. Thanks.

Chandra,

Nice to have you back safe, sound and musically and perhaps spiritually refreshed from your Africa trip. I'm sure we will get a chance to share some of your experiences in new music to come from you in days to come.

Thank you so very much for adding your voice here to that of others regarding my departure from the helm at IAC and at KIAC Media. It is heartwarming to know that my time and efforts made a difference not only in a business context but also in a personal way that others could relate to. That has been my modus operandi for as long as I can remember – and that my friend is more than just a ‘few’ years.

Thank you for your kind words appreciated greatly and for your support, participation and contribution to the site through your songs and music as well as on your stations. You also make a BIG difference here.

May the best of everything be yours always Chandra.

Much respect,

Neil
