If everybody had their acts together
they wouldn't be artists. Artists by definition are living life in the wild. Aren't they?

I disagree. That works for some artists, but I don't think its necessarily a defining characteristic.

I had a bit of a discussion with my drummer last week about my lack of "having it together".
It's tough. Especially when I'm trying to coordinate the schedules of 4 or 5 musicians. plus the engineer, plus my wife, plus my kids. And then, I'm trying to look ahead, too (which is, I think where the big issue lay).
Ugh.

I absolutely do not have my act together. But if I ever get it together as an artist, I'll still consider myself an artist ;)

It's all relative anyway - hey, one persons walk on the wild side is another persons everyday occurrence!

Let me rephrase what I said earlier. I think certain aspects of my life are more together now than they ever have been. Consequently, certain other aspects are less together than they ever have been since they don't get as much attention.
