I'm leaving IAC
Reading all the anger around has made me come to this conclusion. I don't want anyone leaving here due to their arguments with me . Political debate gets impassioned but I think I will go blog somewhere where this is more understood, and tolerated by the crowd.
I did feel it was important to discuss these issues and I remember when I was the only one starting political blogs here. I apologize to anyone who saw me as going beyond the political fray, I don't really feel I did but impressions are everything, aren't they?
I am going to delete my stations now and I wish you all the best. I also wanted to thank IAC for hosting such a fine site, there is none other like this.
Hope you all vote for Obama. :>)

I agree with Laree. Its important that their is an informed political debate and I have seen both sides argued with passion on your threads. What sort of world would it be if people did not care or have strong feelings about crucial issues.
Some people seem to be upset over the rhetoric and strong feelings expressed and they probably have a valid point.
Surley their is a middle ground somewhere where everyone can be if not satisfied feel their feelings have been given due consideration.
I urge you to stay and help this place retain its diversity. Enter into a dialouge with those who are upset and seek a resolution

I'm sorry to see you decide to go elsewhere man. I enjoyed reading the banter and I think you stimulated a lot of debate. Least you got people to talk and think. That's what the election needs, people like you and I sharing opinions, and others with contrary opinions, it all helps.
I really do hope you reconsider. If not, the best of luck to you man.

I never thought I would say this, but I am sorry to see you go. Its not your opinions that rubbed me the wrong way, it was your dismissive attitude. I do think its the nature of the communication on the web. Smart ass remarks in person are often softened by tone, inflection, body language, physical contact, or a laugh. So what I am saying is, if I misunderstood you I am sorry.

Seriously Holo, Stay. Just tone down our knee-jerk reaction responses a bit, and lighten up with Diane Hufnel & Larree, and you make a MARVELOUS addition to this CRAZY situation comedy.

I completely stopped reading political blogs (I decided to shut up and devote all of my extra time community organizing to help get Barack Obama elected. He's got great on the ground grass roots organizations and it's easy to get involved.)
I do continue listening to the great music around here (and occasionally read blogs NOT related to politics.)
For me it's a good happy medium.
I agreed with all you said, every word, politically (I think we're at risk for a dictatorship), however polarizing and extreme it was in style, which I didn't agree with.

I hope you'll laugh as hard as I did! And don't you dare go anywhere. All of us who have argued politics have done so out of passion of our beliefs, not because we are mean-spirited. Albeit, I know I have a weird sense of humor and sarcasm; and not everyone gets it.
And if you go, your logic is all wrong. You don't leave because you've pissed off someone else. They'll get over it.
I came here for the music and comraderie of fellow musicians & listeners and the atmosphere of constructive critiques. Political views were a moot point. Having strayed from my true intent as a member here, I thought it be a good idea to realign my priorities!

I remember fondly all the names he called me.
Why oh why ... after 1000 angry calls for his removal, to the deaf ears of IAC ... did crocodile skinned Holo suddenly find himself a conscience? It's so sad coming just prior to an important election. It's like falling short of a finish line.
It reminds me of "The Wizard of Oz".

Well i agreed with your general worldview and the posts didn't annoy me at all-really can't see what all the fuss was about..
I mean people can ignore them if they want anyway if they don't like 'em,can't they?..
Its a shame you feel the need to to delete your stations tho..
Why do people DO that when they leave?
It benefits no-one-not other people who might enjoy them-and certainly not the artists who are just deprived of a station they're exposed on..

....Well, I never read any of your blogs because I'm not interested enough in politics, American or otherwise, and your topic titles were sufficient to tell me I'd be wasting my time - I'm grateful for that.
I've always thought that a music forum isn't the best place for political discussion/debate but each to their own and I assume I was one of the very few who ignored your posts - Not with any malice but simply because I wasn't interested in the subjects.
However, I'm adding my voice to encourage you to stay. Close the door to IAC or leave it ajar, but no need to lock it shut. Do what I do, I'm no longer attracted to join in here but I occasionally check out the topic titles just to see if anything has changed.
Always keep an open mind.

When people threaten to leave ithey're like children threatening to run away from home because they didn't get the attention they wanted. So the parents beg the chlld not to go and the child feels loved again and stays. A person threatens to jump off a buidling so others will yell, "Don't jump, we really care about you and you will be missed". People threaten to end relationships so their partners will say, "Don't go, I'll treat you better!" Each example represents a cry for help. LOVE ME MORE OR I'M OUTA HERE! But when a person really wants to quit a website, a realtionship, a home, a job, or life itself he or she just quietly slips away without making grandiose
announcements of departure which are filled with veiled rage, resentment and spite.
