Skype and the Modern Songwriter
I mean come on. It's just waiting to be used, isn't it?
My sister forced me to start using our capability to see each other and talk over the net so she could talk to my five year old what seems like every hour.
Pretty amazing. I mean it's free, and works around the world. So now you actually could write with a partner in real time over the net. Then say if you were collaborating on recordings, even then you could get each other on the line to talk in real time about what you're doing and show each other. Work it out a lot like you're in the room, and there's no phone bill.
I think I could probably hang with that.
At least you could run your raw material by your buddies for some help and such.

It's just a system that allows you to video chat. It's free. All you need is a little camera on your computer, something standard now days.
Yeah, there is delay, so you can't play together at the same time, but you could work stuff out for free and actually talk it out.
