"This Ain't No Race" -- Hop On Pop
It's not posted on this site yet, because it's not yet recorded in it's final version, but I wanted to share with you a rehearsal recording of one of my newest songs.
I'd had this chord progression kicking around for a couple of years before I finally was inspired to write some lyrics to go along with it.
So, that said, this is still pretty rough, but you can at least see where we're going with it.
Dig:
"This Ain't No Race"
Looking forward to hearing what you think.

I dig it!
It's got a McCartney-white album vibe to me... Would like to hear the finished product if/when you record it. I thought for sure a kazoo solo was about to break out but you held back... restrain! Still wouldn't of minded one... ;-)

Nice job!

Thanks, Jeff!
I was almost thinking McCartney/White Album when I first played it with the band, too. And, you're right! A kazoo solo might be cool. Of course, I'm not saying that I'm gonna do one. In fact, probably not, as Laddie has been working hard on his guitar solo, but that is a cool thought.
Thanks so much for listening and commenting!

Nice. It was easy to listen to but interesting at the same time :) I particularly liked the bridge. Look forward to the proper recording where i can hear your voice more.

I agree with the consensus so far. Despite the lack of polish it is quite listenable, and has a fun, charming feel to it. The subtle change-ups with the drum work add an extra bit of spontaneity that keeps the song exciting. I'll be looking forward to hearing the final version.

I'll have to wait for the final version because my browser is too outdated to work with Sound Cloud.

The songs are set to "private" but that second link on the page is a "secret" link that should work.
But, if it's not working, here it is again:

that second link worked.

Todd the more I hear this song the more I love it. It is really cleaver and I love the tempo and the way you do the vocal. Its happy and free but serious message at the same time.

There once was a man called david lee roth and some people found him a bit out there but he let it all hang out. Your song in a way captures that spirit the way he used to be when he sang "I ain't got no body I'm so sad and lonely."

I hope that you continue your work on this and do a final version its a great song and deserves to be heard.

Two Silo Complex,
Ken

@Ken ~ My computer does not have an intel processor and therefore cannot accept Google Chrome. I have Mac/PowerPC. I'm well aware that Google chrome is "free,"
something that would not be a problem for me if it wasn't.

Richard,
Did not know that chrome does not work on mac or that you were on a mac.
Some people are resistant to chrome was the only reason I mentioned it.

Firefox is a pretty horrible browser.

I agree that Firefox is horrible!

Google chrome works with Macs but not with Macs that are called MAC/POWER PC. For reasons totally unknown to me, some Macs like the one I have do not have Intel Processors which are necessary to accept Google chrome.

In intend to get a new computer in the near future. They become obsolete so quickly,
it's kind of crazy.

Looks like we're gonna have to postpone the recording for a few months due to some personal issues that a band member is having. Should be okay. Nothing life threatening, just time consuming.
Hoping to get recording at the beginning of next year, now.
