"Noir/Jaune" Hop On Pop
Now, this one is not on IMP yet, because it's still a work in progress, but I wanted you all to hear it and maybe comment.
This is just a rehearsal tape, recorded on my iPod, placed in between David and myself, as we were working out some of the arrangement. You can hear me giving instructions to him, as we play.
"Noir/Jaune"
The transition is rough going from the minor key to the major key part, but we already have it worked out. Dave just played it wrong.

I really just want you all to hear it; check it out and let me know what you think of the composition.

Hope you do. And I hope you like it.

EDIT: And yes, the guitar is a little out of tune. I borrowed a piece of crap that was hanging around Dave's place, so that I didn't have to drag my guitar to work and then over there afterwards.

Exceptional guitar work here. Strong melody and some fine pick'n. Hearing the changes being called out was a bit unusual. I assume you will take that out when the song is completely finished from a production stand point. But overall, I think this song has great potential. It lives and breathes with awesome musicianship and song crafting!

Much Respect,
Stoneman

Thanks so much, Stoneman! So kind of you.
Yeah, this is, as I said, just a rehearsal tape. I was calling out changes because he hadn't totally learned them yet; we were still working it out. So yeah, that will be gone when we record it "for real."
Again: thanks so much for the kind words! You're getting me excited to finish this one.

Like the cabaret noire vibe, and the minor chord, and the piano over the fingerpickin' is so simple, and elegant, hah! The transition to a major chord is very neat, and works well, a la "layla" a bit, mayhaps.

This is fantastic, so relaxed, and expansive, and an absolute pleasure to listen to. Melodious, musical, entertaining, uplifting, and fun...

Oh, it's all flat picking, Steve.
And thank you so much for your kind words.
