Redux
I wrote this song about a year ago and got some good feedback on it.
But it felt rushed to me so I slowed it down a few BPM's and redid it from scratch with my new software etc..
Wrote it for the woman who puts up with me and my nonsense... 17 years... not too bad.
Titled: By my side

https://www.dropbox.com/s/uqc4u1onkplm4uo/By%20my%20side.mp3?dl=0

By My Side
----------------------
Well I'm thankful for the sun
and I'm thankful for the rains
The wonders of the Universe
and whatever created everything

But I don't know if I found you or you found me
You can call it luck... call it fate... or destiny

Through all the years gone by
You stayed by my side
And through all the years we try we keep it alive
With you by my side

And there's rivers left to cross
Mountains left to climb
You can burn my bones when I'm gone
But baby we've still got some time

Still I don't how I found you or you found me
Call it luck... call it fate... or destiny

Through all the years gone by
You stayed by my side
And through all the years we've tried we keep it alive
Through all the years... hopes and fears
We sang our song and we carried on and on
And on
On and on and on

Still I don't if I found you or you found me
You can call it luck... call it fate... or destiny

Through all the years gone by
You stayed by my side
And through all the years we try we keep it alive

Through all the years and all the tears
The good and bad our hopes and fears
Through all the years gone by
You stayed by my side
Yeah by my side

Certainly lovely work Jeff, excellent guitar work, tastefully done, kinda has that 60's vibe, love that bass line, especially that descending part really hits ya , well thought out composition, the parts and placements of the instrumentation is strong. Your singing is quite good ,just a couple of drop offs where I lost the words being sung, but the build around 3:00 minutes ties it all together and the lighter touch as the song ends is a great touch. for me, a very listenable and enjoyable song. well crafted song with solid production , i like it

Thanks Bryon...
Have to say I'm glad to be recording things again...
I like where this one is at... not totally satisfied with it but is a better version than the original. Was a little more comfortable with the vocal on this one.
It's one of those "doesn't matter to me if anyone likes it" kind of tunes... seemed important to me to finish.
Appreciate your time man!
Thanks again for it..

Hey Jeff ~ Why no tunes on your page? Are you going rouge? ;-)

I would love to hear what you're doing but no can do because of this message:

"A shared link stopped working, or shows a 404 error"

Rouge... me? lulz
Naw... just working on some new things and a couple of redo's.
I've got 12 songs/ideas just testing the waters here and there trying to get them to the point of being fit for human consumption... or regurgitation... lol.

What a place, I think half of us are nuts and the rest are already in the looney tune bin
but I like Jeffs works and Richards, and a whole lot of others here, despite what I say over there on the pipeline. now Bryon, go write something worthwhile.....cha ching

Thanks Bryon and Jeff for all your past and present support.

Jeff - I'm curious about the bird in the cage pic. It's intriguing. Care to share?

I'll still trying to access Dropbox but I keep getting an error message.
Maybe it's my computer. Who knows? I'm a musician , not a technician! :-)

If you put works in progress on your IMP page you can always delete them or change them after you've gotten some feedback

The bird in the cage image was for a song called "Arrows"
Probably one of the few angry songs I've written... Basically was about breaking yourself free from a bad relationship...

You shot your Arrow (fell for her like a cupid Arrow)
and caged the Sparrow (domesticated me)
You clipped his wings (try to change me)
Now he won't sing (Grew tired of it all)
Along to your song (And your ways)
Now he's dead and gone (Split)
When he only ever wanted to be free

Sorry I should of mentioned before DropBox allows a limit on how long a link is good for... like an expiration.
If I get a comment or two that's cool... So I just end it.
No biggie you didn't miss much considering how many views and only one reply to it. lol Still working on it.
I pretty much ignore my page... As much as I enjoy the conversations when I come here I don't feel my recordings are a good quality for anything more than a critique or two.
It's all refrigerator art to me... but I enjoy doing it.
Ive got a few near completion should get done tomorrow… it’s suppose to rain here so what better to do than work on a song or two…
