Lonely Girl
https://www.dropbox.com/s/d7xvn38nmhlhb8y/Lonley%20Girl.mp3?dl=0

Written in reflection of a girl I knew when I was in my teens... but was about me as much as her.
In my mind I had more courage than reality...

Lonely Girl
----------------------
She's got a black-light poster on the wall
Bought from Spencer's at the mall
Bell-bottom jeans Peaches shirt on
Cheap Trick spinning live at Buda Khan

Another Friday night all alone in this place
When you don't fit in feel like a charity case

You know all the little clicks hang down at the bar
Think we're such a mess but they don't know who you are

Well you could be my one and only
I'll keep the wolves away
But you choose to play the role of a lonely girl
Just a lonely girl

You could be my one and only
It's better than sitting home feeling lonely
And who knows how far this could go
I see a little smile starting to show

Well if you need a shoulder I've got one to spare
You need a hand to hold Baby I'll be there

As you burn your candles burn your incense
but you sit in silence it's your best defense

You could be my one and only
Until my words get in the way
But you choose to play the role of a lonely girl
Just a lonely girl

Step outside it's a great big world yeah....

So what do you say
You want to take a chance
Like Cinderella at the dance
Don't be afraid baby don't say no
Now I'm not trying to be some hero

Just take the first step and come off the porch
Not one to beg but I must Implore
Have you changed your mind
I call it a hunch
Won't you climb in the front seat
We only live once

Well you could be my one and only
I'll keep the wolves away
You could be my one and only
If we could start today
Or do you choose to play the role of a lonely girl
Just a lonely girl
Step outside it's a great big world

Hey Jeff, you are finding your groove lately with these dropbox releases, your singing has improved, basically because you are feeling more confident and letting it go. your singing reminds me of Bob Seger or The Boss. little edgy but still actually better :) keep developing your singing chops. The Storyline is strong, bringing and singing about something that is real, and that actually happened in your life, catchy chorus, lonely girl, its a sing along tune, for sure, the lyrics are well woven , pretty clean production ,i like how you kept it guitar driven, suits your style, although in places this could use a nice hammond patch to support the song in a tasty minimal way. So best presentation of your new found vibe so far, this has a good radio feel. The gritty guitar and straight ahead percussion with just there bass work holds it together nicely. I like it. coming here to IMP and elsewhere perhaps, nice one man

Hey Bryon...
I appreciate it.. I know I can't really sing... it's done by default. I use to just put music together and see if I could get someone interested locally in singing for me.. but then I realized I'm just too lazy to get up get out and do the real leg work.
But yeah some do seem to fit better than others... for sure.

I wrote this pretty quick one evening after a binge of Big Star music... love the first album and really admired Alex Chilton as a writer/singer/musician.

Thanks again

Side note;
The powers that be deleted the Canada you Pansies thread...
Said something about deleting a poster and then poof gone ALL the context gone gone gone...
But somehow some way the thread Titled "I bet a lot of idiots here don't believe in climate change." remained even though they deleted this guys specific posts.
Smell of dead fish in the air...
Looks more like it was done on purpose.
So rather than be truthful...
