LIES
Well you've been kicking me around for such a long long time
You'd think by now I've seen it all you give a nickel and take a dime
And I know how you get lonely... but I bet you weren't last night
You see I drove by and seen his car sitting in your drive
Ooooh what a surprise I'll bet he had one helluva time
I tell you you could work for the Government with your pocket full of alibis
Filled with Lies Lies Lies
Yeah I could see it in your eyes
Yeah Lies Lies Lies
You tell me something you think I want to hear
When you whisper in my ear how you never felt like this before
The way you turn it on think you're never wrong and I go falling for you once more
And you sell your story with such conviction
How you keep it straight what's fact or fiction
Just Lies Lies Lies
Yeah I could see it in your eyes
Yeah Lies Lies Lies
Now I'll play seer and I'm out of here yeah
You tell me not to worry said everything's fine
but I think the truth escapes you
when you're messing with my mind
Turning water into wine
Yeah I guess it's your addiction but the truth it never fails
You so good on a hook girl
your life's one big fish tail and the check is in the mail
You're like Watergate or no new taxes
You can't keep it straight just stick to the facts
No more Yeah Lies Lies Lies
Yeah I could see it in your eyes
Well I'm through with you and all your talking
I think I'll make a break and keep on walking
Just Lies Lies Lies
Yeah I could see it in your eyes
Yeah Lies Lies Lies
Don't tell me something you think I want to hear

Fantastic sonics and very tight band and excellent musicianship all around, great singing too. Hey, man, you good! Tom Petty would be proud! (I listened to some of your other stuff and you're very consistent!)

Thanks for giving a listen and commenting RS!
I appreciate your comments/compliments...
No band though it's just me banging away...
I've heard the TP comparison before... never really understood it but I'm good with it!
Thanks again ;-)

Wow, that's impressive, man. Not every "one man band" actually sounds like one but you do. The drums are recorded incredibly well. The snare is natural and punchy, phat and warm. The guitars are also very well recorded. The overall sound is the closest a "home" recording can come to a "studio" recording. Kudos, man! What's your set up?

Thanks man I do like how it turned out...
I have a simple bare bones low budget set up...
M-Audio interface Fast TrackII (I think) with an older version of Pro Tools (Essential8) limited to 16 tracks but it works for me
M-Audio BX5 monitors
Cheapo Samson Headphones
Audio Technica 2020
Cheap yamawho keyboard
and a bunch of ehhh... guitars Epi Sheraton, Fender Squier, Squier P-Bass, Epi Acoustic and a low budget Martin Custom X series.
On Lies I think played brushes on the snare didn't want a snap/pop sound but a fuller note
My sons a drummer so I use to get access to them from time to time though he sold his acoustic kit for an electronic set. Not quite the same. he kept a few things and lets me use them when I ask... ;-)
The snare was recorded separate on it's own track so I could EQ it however I wanted.
Most of the songs I use the drum samples on the Yamaha but keep everything separate so I can make adjustments.
Over-all simple minimalist approach though I'm sure you can make do with less.
I just wanted to be able to record some things and make a mix.
Having 16 tracks became a luxury so I never moved on from it. Don't really want to learn engineering... press record and play.
So what's your set up?
