Well here goes, this one I am not sure of the percussion so its up for some checking out,but i think I have the arrangement down nicely and solo trumpet thing, with a laid back vibe cool jazz mellow piano very tasty and supportive. I have strings taking some of the instrumentation. This is meant for jazz radio canada about 25 stations I have submitted to before.

it was 4minutes 40 seconds too long, so dropped a minute of it now about 330 or so
give me your best shot

thanks for your time and appreciate your insight in advance with respect of your feedback

Awesome feel on this one Bryon. Wonderful Piano comps and I love the melody. Very smooth and jazzy! Really nice and mellow horn sound. Perfect for this piece. I usually prefer real horns but this was so cool a pretty. Loved it just the way it was. The percussions on this one were fine for me. It related to the groove quite well. The only thing I would add is maybe some drums fill in strategic spots. But it is fine just the way it is. Nice smooth jazz composition.

thanks, that helps Stoneman, I will try to figure something out, I knew it was weak on the percussion without some other item to enhance it more effectively, really appreciate your help and pointing out that aspect percussion wise

thanks again for your continued support here at R / C

Well I pretty much agree with everything that Stoneman said. I think the grove of the drum track was good. The sound of the drums well they sound like keyboard drums. Have you ever tried using some drum loops or maybe a drum module with some more realistic tones? You could set to a beat on the drum machine and play your piano to that. They make some pretty cool drum machines now with foot pedal that you can basically step when you want it to do a pre-programed fill.

I like the mood and the tone was cool I'm sure you could submit it how it is and get on air. In my opinion a better source for the drum be it a module or loops would give you a better sound over all.

If you wanted real drums I'll give you a standing offer on that but I think I should go back and redo parts of on the run I could have done better but I rushed it to get it out.
TSC,
Ken

Thanks Ken, I think I will listen to it carefully and as Stoneman says , add some touches here and there, it is not keyboard drums, although I have used it, it is new loops on a software program, very laid back, mellow to suit the smooth cool jazz vibe. I find it hits people differently,

Dolores Paradise from Shoe city sound gave me the biggest compliment ever (of course I have had a lot here and elsewhere) as she said it was my best song ever wow best song ever, quite a nice and incredible review, much thanks Dolores that compliment is wonderfully shocking as I have done hundreds of songs from classical to jazz and pop, I guess songs we do hit people differently and in various ways and we are attracted to a certain vibe and style which affects us in different ways. so, it depends on our own music appreciation and what we like, it is so subjective

thanks to all who listen to my music, i am thankful for your time here and in listening to my groove

Hey Byron its a cool tune. Maybe if you using loops some different eq and compression might help it. I agree a few fills would be sweet. Sorry If I am overcritical it is an effort to make it better not bring you down. I dug your vibe all day man. Also apologize for bombing your thread with my offer for drums that was rude of me and you handled it with class.

Hey Bryon - please don't think I was disregarding all the other many many songs you have written - you are prolific for sure! I just love this genre and you hit a mood that matched what I needed to hear, so for me it was personal and your best one ever hahaha - I am so needing this type of sound lately. I was grateful for another great song to put in my iTunes shuffle. I don't have any constructive criticism. Whatever alchemy helped you put these sounds together makes me like this tune just exactly the way it is.

thanks Ken, not to worry, songs hit people in various ways, some dig not all will

Appreciate your loving the song Dolores, really, and I sent it off to my artwork guy for prep for my digital release and a few other songs, doing a cdbaby itunes release and radio thing with college and jazz radio, actually getting big ups from others, same reaction so maybe I am learning how to put a song together but with better production, not sure, anyways, the Cd design artwork guy digs it hugely and says it has an urban feel to it, so we will see.

appreciate your liking and digging the tunage Dolores. although no adds here, but thats no biggie. i know what it will do elsewhere in the near future.

so i am considering hiring a sax or trumpet player I know to do this horn part. Stoneman suggested it and my brother Ted said it would be better after listening to it, said fine but be so much better with the real thing, also everything works the way it is,. so probably going that way be a few hundred but if it is going to radio, then that is the right way and best.
