Enter ‘Thief of Grey’, an electronic pop producer based in Chicago, USA. His sound is a melting pot of styles - incorporating electronic dance grooves, the edginess of rock, and the laid-back, feel-good vibes of reggae. Delve deeper into his music and you’ll discover that his songs are an embodiment of strength, or as he puts it “an outlet of relief from the negative symptoms associated with the modern day grind”. As a result, his music is often relatable, and embossed with cerebral instrumentation and catchy hooks without ever falling into the realm of ‘cheesy’ or ‘predictable’.
‘Thief of Grey’ has been writing music for almost a decade now, and has been brought up on a healthy musical diet of notable greats such as The Temptations, Michael Jackson, and Led Zeppelin. As a kid he continuously experimented with music, and it wasn’t long before he realised he wanted to pursue it professionally. By 14, he was already intent on mastering the guitar, and taking his craft seriously so that he could inspire positivity in others for a living.
Fast forward to today and he is now a multi-talented instrumentalist - playing drums, bass, guitar and even singing on the project. He has been performing live around the Chicago area for the past 5 years, and has recently played the House of Blues in Chicago and the Rave in Milwaukee as a guitarist and backup vocalist for the alt-rock sensation ‘Rabidus’.
Thief of Grey has been busy lining up his release schedule for the year, and is off to a strong start. This February saw the release of his rendition of Credence Clearwater Revival’s track entitled ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain’, and he has plenty of originals in the pipeline that are waiting to see the light of day.
