Eyekon was formed in 1995 under the name MINDWATCH, which was the remaining part of the deathmetal band DEVOURED. The line-up consisted of Victor Takala, Bjarne Gudmundsson, Niko Salomaa, Mattias Lindblad and Micke Oretoft.

1995 two demo songs were recorded, Moonlight Transit and Lady Baroque. Bjarne left the band due to lack of interest for the music. Shortly thereafter, Mikael left too because the absence of a drummer. He was replaced by Stefan Guteklint. 1996 Nico was replaced by Anders Hortin on Keyboards. After a few months we found a drummer, Joakim Borén, a friend of Anders and Stefans.

In the beginning of 1997 Stefan left the band for another musical direction. Guillaume joined the band as the new bass player. In December a three song demo was recorded, Inside Out, Virgin & the Rose and Freedom. From February '98 to August '98 we had a long pause due to the lack of rehearsing place. After the reunion in August '98 Mattias decided to leave the band to focus on his own song-writing. It was decided that Victor would take on the lead vocals and the band name was changed to EYEKON. A new musical direction was taking form.

During 1999 two new demos were recorded at the studio Ljudion, Stockholm. The demo was engineered/produced by Robert Axelsson who did a great jobb. In November '99 Guilaume leaves due to other interests. Jocke
After a few bass-less months bassplayer Thomas Grossman was brought in to play bass on the bands forthcoming recording. The chemistry between the ""temp"" and the other members seemed to work and it was decided that Thomas should join the band as a permanent member.

In the summer of '01 two new songs were recorded. The Manchurian Candidate and Hearsay Project.

The band continued to rehearse and a slight shift in the music began to crystallize. Anders started to explore the sounds of vintage keyboards (Hammonds, Rhodes…) and inspiration was drawn from new bands. Keeping the Eyekon sound, this brought more maturity to the songs.

In March of ‘03 the band went back to the studio where Hearsay was recorded, back to engineer Fredrik Cerha. Two new songs were recorded. Omen and Tabula Rasa.

Eyekon is now concentrating on a new record. The record will be finished some time in the year 2006.
