About Andrew Baker
Hello everybody!
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Andrew W. Baker. I was born April 9th 1978,
to Irene And Roy Baker. I am 28 years old, and engaged to a very beautiful,
young women by the name of Valerie Souls. God has blessed me with her.
I would like to share my testimony with all of you.
I became a born again christian back in 1990 at a revival meeting that we,
where invited to attend. God called me into ministry in 1991.
Back then I really couldn't put my fingure on what ministry God wanted me,
in. But today I know. God has called me into the music ministry. This all,
Came about while I was going through some very serious trials and,
Tribulations in my life.
My journey began in 2002 when I was gaining massive amounts of weight,
and my legs became all distorted, and I would fall asleep all the time.
Fianally I went to the doctors and was diagnosed with stage 3 irreversable
Lymphadema in the legs. Which is caused by small veins in my legs which,
don't have enough strength to move fluids back up into my body, so all the
fluid collects in my legs. I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea. My life was,
a living hell, full of pain and great sorrow. I started getting my church family
involed in praying for me. Well needless to say God has been pulling me
through. I strated with theropy everyday for 4 months. I had to have 76
compression bandages on each leg. Eventually they came off, I lost 143
pounds, and my legs where getting back to a normal size, and my sleep
apnea was under controll. When man says that something is irreversiable,
get God involved because nothing is irreversiable in his eyes. I am a
living testimony to that.
I am much better now, I still have some work to do to loose a lot more
weight, but my God will prevail.
Once that was all said and done back in 2005 my eyes started blacking out
all the time, my friend then said you might be going blind. I cryed out to
God once again, and got my church behind me. I went to the eye doctor,
he looked at my eyes and then took off to talk to anouther doctor, I knew
it couldn't be good. I prayed that God would get me through. The doctor came
back in and said we need to get you an MRI as soon as possible, you may
have a brain tumor. I kept my head held high, until I left the building.
My fiancee and my two friends where waiting for me in the van. They knew
something was wrong. I strated crying and my fiancee Val asked me what
was wrong. I told them I might have a brain tumor. I cryed for a half hour.
I kept praying for a miracle. I was scheduled to see a nerologist in Syracuse,
NY. He ordered an MRI immediatly. My optic nerves where swollen to the point
where I was going blind, and they wanted to find out why.
While I was in the MRI I prayed to God for a sign that I would make it
through. At that same time they had the radio playing for me, and a lady came on the
radio and said,"take a deep breath, relax, God is with you and your
loved ones are with you." I started crying, and asked God for anouther
miracle in my life.
Well days went by and the night before they called me with the
results, my fiancee put her hand on my head while I was sleeping and asked
God to heal me. The doctor called that morning and said,"Andrew we have
great news, there are no tumors or tears in your brain. We believe you might
have to much spinal fluid going to your brain and is not controlled.
We need to get a spinal tap done."
I said ok, so I went for a spinal tap and that is what it was.
Normal spinal fluid levels is 200 my was 400, they drained it, and tested it
for cancer and other diseases which came back normal. I was put on
mediaction to control the pressure, and my eyes are normal again.
I thank God for that everyday. I once was blind, but now I see.
Through all of this, that is when I relized that Gods plan for my life was in the
music ministry. I wrote over 45 Praise and Worship songs during my trials
and tribulations. and wrote almost 100 poems.
My music ministry will include touring churches and arenas to sing the songs
I wrote and share my testimony to Gods people.
