Formed as an acoustic duo in 1998, the Trespassengers were originally conceived as a creative outlet for singer-songwriters Sam Weight and Todd Slater, who at the time were playing with other more rock-oriented bands. Their collaboration produced a wealth of material in the contemporary acoustic/alt-country genre, and after experimenting with different line-ups and instrumentation, the core of the current band was established in 2003, including Mike Francisco on bass, Ned Berry on fiddle, and Brian Lang on drums. After Mike’s tragic death in May 2006, Sam’s former bandmate Matt Miller joined on bass and the Trespassengers have continued to hone their sound, beginning work on a new recording to be released in 2007.

Drawing on both classic influences such as The Who, Neil Young, The Band, and The Eagles, and modern ones such as Wilco, Son Volt, The Eels, My Morning Jacket, Camper Van Beethoven, and the Jayhawks, the Trespassengers have stayed true to their singer-songwriter format, combining elements of traditional Americana with modern sonic textures. Younger audiences appreciate the combination of honest, introspective lyrics and a sound that is refreshing in contrast with much of today’s alternative rock, and older audiences appreciate the Trespassengers novel take on the “classic rock” genre.

As described by the band, the Trespassengers play “Music that isn't brazen, or over the top in anyway. Just a few chords strung together that stick in your head, the kind you find yourself whistling days later.”

heyHeyHEY! Spring is in the air once again, which means lots of allergy medicine and tissues. Oh, it also means were back in business and gearing up for a bunch of great shows! We've been laying low since the Whitaker Center gig (goodness that was a great evening - thanks all who came out) but we've been busy recording the new disk due out later this year. Coming up we have a show on May 12th at the Appalachian Brewing Company's Ten Year Anniversary Celebration. We'll be joining Paul Wunder as well as area favorites Hexbelt and Quagmire Swim Team on the outdoor stage at 2:00 p.m. - Then at 8:00 p.m. the show moves inside for The April Skies and the ultra-mega-way cool all-star's The Hold Steady.

Also, we'll be playing the Harrisburg Artfest on Memorial Day (Monday, May 28th) this year! We'll be right on Front street near the walking bridge over to City Island at 11:am. Bring the kid's, grab some funnel cake and enjoy the festivities with us. We've got more show's in the works for June and July as well so check back soon to see when and where you might be able to catch up with us. Till then -
Adios Amigos!

Happy New Year everybody!

Trespassengers are starting out the new year with a very special show on Saturday February 10th at the Whitaker Center's Sunoco Performance Theater in Harrisburg. It's a rare treat for us to play such an excellent venue, and a great opportunity to see us in a non-bar setting. Not at a bar?? Does this mean an all ages show?? Why YES! This will be an all ages show, so bring the whole family out - what the heck IT'S FREE! There will be no smoking and no drinking allowed once inside the Theater, nothing but comfy seats, a great sound system and a couple hours of enjoying the music.

The show will start at around 8pm with the doors opening at 7:30. The show is FREE and seating will be limited to about 300, so be sure and get there early to secure a seat!! We really hope everyone out there can make it to this one, it is going to be a heck of a lot of fun and we could sure use the support.

Best wishes to everyone for a joyous New Year, and we hope to see you on February 10th at the Sunoco Performance Theater!

NOVEMBER 17, 2006
Hey Hey! We just wanted to say thanks to all who came out to the HBG Online Music Awards last night, it was a great night. We really appreciate the thought behind inviting us play as a small tribute to our dear friend and band mate, Mike Francisco. I'm sure he was watching with a smile as Sam and Todd took the stage. That's about all, it was great to be out with so many great folks from the Harrisburg music scene and we look forward to next year. Who knows, maybe we'll win something next time!

Hasta!

OCTOBER 28, 2006
So long summer '06. Hello brightly colored leaves, pumpkins on the doorstep and fuzzy sweaters. Let's see...where to begin. The stories of our breaking up have been greatly exaggerated - in fact we just practiced last night. We're actually gearing up for our upcoming show at the Appalacian Brewing Company on November 4th - that's next weekend!! Crikey! We're looking forward to kicking the rust off and bringing you the rock. Come on out and see us if you can, the Jellybricks will be there as well as the April Skies who are throwing their CD release party there that night, it should be a fun time for everyone. In other news Trespassengers has begun work on a new recording - we're optimistic that we may soon have a full length CD for sale. Anyway, Happy Halloween all - be good and we'll see you soon.

AUGUST 10, 2006
The summer's heat seems to be taking a break - after roasting most of the North East we're finally able to enjoy some time outdoors - and wouldn't you know it, Trespassengers has another outdoor show coming up for y'all! We will be appearing south of the mason-dixon in the fair city of Baltimore at Amos' Annual Hootenanny! Check our shows listing for details and directions. We can tell you now - it looks to be damn good time! We are but one of four bands on the bill for the afternoon / evening so surely this is one party you won't want to miss.

Finally we'd like to acknowledge everyone who has helped us and the Francisco family through these last few months. All of your efforts and contributions are truely appreciated. The band will continue to move forward practicing, playing, and recording with Matt now on bass and Mike never far from our thoughts.

peace

JUNE 23, 2006
Wow! Last night was a great show for us - it was a tremendous release for the band. Though we couldn't find words to express our feelings for Mike and the events of the past couple of months - I think a lot of what couldn't be spoken came out in the music. Thanks to all who made it out last night - and sorry about the late notice to those who missed it! We do still have two gigs scheduled. Actually tomorrow June 24th - we're doing a benefit for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at Susquehanna High School on Elmerton Ave. in Harrisburg. It is an excellent cause and if the weather holds out it should be a great time. After that you can catch us at The Hardware bar on 2nd Street in Harrisburg, July 4th as part of the Twisted Tuesdays series. We hope to see you there.

****************************************

MAY 15, 2006
As most of you know by now our bass player Mike was killed in a tragic accident. For us, his band mates, his absence leaves a void not just in our sound, but in our hearts. It's something we will struggle with for some time to come. That being said, we've talked it over and decided that Trespassengers will indeed continue - at least as far as our scheduled gigs. We've decided to cancel the gig on May 20th but we will return for the show on June 22nd at ABC. Our good friend Matt Miller of 'Nowhere Quick' fame (and Lubin Dolly's infamy) will join us on bass. Matt is a swell guy and has huevos mucho grande for stepping up and offering his talents. It won't be easy but we're already working on putting together our set. We look forward to seeing you all out at ABC in June.

peace

APRIL 12, 2006
Well hello there!! Thanks fer stopping by our little space on the innernets. We've been pretty busy lately - or at least it seems that way. Sam has snapped out of his writers-block and is now a white-hot ball of song-writing creativity, the rest of the band has been struggling just to keep up...well sort of. We do have a batch of new songs in the works just in time for the spring shows - come out and see what we've been cooking up if you can.

As always if you're looking for info on local music be sure to visit the RoundTable Presents website for more info on great local bands and frank and funny discussions on their bulletin boards. Also see the American Fallout Records site to check out a sampler of great Americana bands featuring Jefferson Pepper, SuperSuckers (playing the Dragonfly May 1st), Eddie Spaghetti and us too!

Hasta!

Finally, if you're visiting our site for the first time take a peek at our shows section, we have a couple coming up in March and April so mark your calendar. We'd love to have you come out. Here Comes The New Year!
Every now and then I know it's kinda
hard to tell, but I'm still alive and well!”-- Johnny Winter

Heck yeah we're still kickin’! We're just kinda slackin with the web updates.
Shoot - the last batch of photos we posted were from the Ski RoundTop gig in March way back when it was cold outside and snow was on the ground…. uhhhh. Yeah anyway. It's cold again and there is snow on the ground and we're working on our 2006 schedule. We’ve got a couple gigs lined up in March and we're looking to add a couple more before the new year smacks us in the face. We've been doing a bit of self-promotion on the web at the Bud Garageband.com site as well as a few others. We're getting some pretty good reviews too which is cool. We’ll be the featured Americana artist
on the garageband site Sunday December 18. Anyway – we wish you all a Happy New Years and we hope to see you real soon.

OCTOBER 18, 2005
Happy Halloween All!

Ahh, it's fall - one of our favorite times of year, time to bust out the big sweater and pack on a few pounds eatin' chicken wings and watchin' football. Before the weather got too cold we got the chance to play one final outdoor show of the season at the American Fallout Records CD release party. That stage is just too cool - the sound was awesome and even though we hacked our way through our set we had a great time thanks to the hospitality of Jeff, Pat and all the folks at AFR. Anyway, we're working hard to keep off the holiday pounds by keeping on our rigorous tour schedule, making T-Shirt's and CD's, updating the website, yada yada yada...Coming up on the 21st of October we'll be at the Marysville Tavern and then November 5th at the Appalachian Brewing Company opening for the lovely and talented Case150. Check out the shows section for more detail. Oh, we will have shirts and CD's available at both shows - $10 gets you the shirt and CD combo meal, remember Christmas is coming and they make a great gift! C'mon out and see us if you can! Take care now.

Come early though, because there will be pigs roasting and lots of food and drinks all day and all night long. JUNE 27, 2005
Howdy folks! Trespassengers have been mighty busy lately - we had back to back weekend shows out at Wallabees in Harrisburg. If you haven't been out there yet it's definitely worth checking out. They just built a nice size riser stage and the place can accommodate a good size crowd, so it's set to become a great venue for live music. Anyway, we had a great time playing the Millennium Gig, it's always a treat playing a show with Case 150 - the pedal steel and tele wrangling just floors us every time. We also got introduced to Jenkins Hollow - a great band from Baltimore who's singer/guitar player Rose Manfre simply rocks. We look forward to playing again with both those acts in the near future. Thanks to everyone who came out last Saturday, and if you missed us - that's o.k. the next show is right around the corner on July 5th at the Hardware Bar in downtown Harrisburg - check the shows listing for more info. Take care.

MAY 31, 2005
Trespassengers have some good news, we've been accepted as a
Round Table Presents act! For those of you who aren't sure what RTP is, go check out their web site roundtablepresents.com. They just redesigned their site and it looks fantastic, it's got streaming media, discussion boards and info on where to catch some of the most entertaining original live music in the Harrisburg area. We're really looking forward to working with this fine consortium, Round Table Presents always gives the audience a great sound and light show and for the bands it's just the best - quality sound is one thing but to be involved in a community of folks who care so much about live music makes it even better. We look forward to seeing you all out at an RTP sponsored event in the near future. Until then come out and catch us June 25th at Wallabee's in Harrisburg as part of the Harrisburg Millennium Music Conference. Take care all.

Tired of smoky bars and sound systems that leave your ears ringing? If so, this may be the show for you! Join Sam and Todd (and maybe even Mike) for an all ages acoustic show this Friday at the coffee house in Linglestown (right near the square). We’ll be playing two sets of mostly original material while throwing back some half-caff mocha lattes in the most Alt-Country way we find. It should be a great time – we’re working for tips, so be sure to bring lots of $1 bills. If you’re really nice Sam will let you place them in his pockets.

MARCH 17, 2005
The First Annual Ski 4 Life 24 hour gig went very well. Yes it was cold but so what?! It was a bright sunny morning and by the time we got there, (and had a cup of coffee) we were ready to rock. We even played fairly well due in large part to the outstanding sound provided by Roundtable Presents. We all had a great time - even Ned who left NJ at 3:30 a.m. to make it on time. All in all it was great to be part of an event that benefited a worthy cause and get a chance to play for some folks who may otherwise have never heard us. More shows are on the way, so be sure to check the schedule page for all of the latest updates. See you at the next show.

****************************************

FEBRUARY 24, 2005
On March 13th we will be playing a benefit show at Ski Roundtop for their First Annual Ski 4 Life 24 Hour Ski and Snowboard Marathon to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The show was put together by Roundtable Presents, and will showcase several bands from the Central PA area such as Herbie, Brazilian Wax, The Hundred, Spotus, The Green Onions and much more. Be sure to join us and help support a great cause. If you would like to donate to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, you can do so here... www.leukemia.org. We hope to see you all at the show. Take care.

Our next show will be next Friday at Coakley's in New Cumberland. Check out the shows page for more details. We hope to see you at the next show.

JANUARY 5, 2005
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This Friday we will be performing our first show of the new year opening for Captain Amazing at Gullifty's in Camp Hill. If you've never seen Captain Amazing before, here's a short des_c_r_i_p_tion...

Captain Amazing is the latest alternative to the cover bands that you might find on the local and regional music scene today. With the combination of the driving rhythm section and the versatile guitars, the tunes delivered are punctuated with hard hitting horn lines, keyboard harmonies, and other percussive effects to bring you a cover band experience unlike no other. The band consists of former members of Big Tubba Mista and Nowhere Quick. We hope you will join us this Friday at Gullifty's for a night of great music and cheap drinks.

****************************************

DECEMBER 6, 2004
The last few months we've been in the studio recording our first full length CD, so we haven't been playing many shows recently. We have finished 4 songs so far, and we'll be booking some shows soon. So be sure to check back to find out when and where we'll be playing. We hope everyone has a great holiday, and we'll see you soon at one of the shows.

Case 150 is a local band playing original music with an incredible lineup of musicians. Definitely check these guys out. Doug Kwartler is a local favorite in the Long Island area, but we've been lucky enough to get him to come all the way down here to share the stage with us. JUNE 29, 2004
The June 26th show at the G-Man in Mechanicsburg was a great time. Trespassengers would like to give special thanks to 'Brian the sound guy' for caring enough to make us sound our very best. Thanks also to all the folks who made the Millennium Music Conference happen, especially the bands! Saturday night we shared the stage with Doug Kwartler, Firefly and Kef. They were all excellent, it was our pleasure to open for them. Finally thanks to all the folks who made it out to the show, come see us again at Remy's Friday July 16th with Case 150 and Doug Kwartler.

JUNE 17, 2004
Trespassengers are pleased to announce the addition of a new band member, Ned Berry. Ned has been kind enough to play violin on a few of our tracks in the past year. Also in recent months he has been making the trek from New Jersey to come play with us at our shows as well as coming down for the occasional practice. When he plays with us we're better for it. It's a pleasure to have him in the band.

Ned has been playing violin for over 20 years and brings a wealth of musical knowledge to the band. He is adept at playing many styles of music including; classical, Irish folk and American folk. His own style is influenced by his classical background as well as by modern bands like Camper Van Beethoven. Be sure to catch Ned playing with us this Friday at Remy's on Paxton Street. We go on at 10. Hope to see you there.

****************************************

JUNE 1, 2004
Today we added a few new photos from our show at the State Street Station, as well as adding a new show to the schedule. On June 18th we will be opening up for Milkshake Jones and The April Skies at Remy's on Paxton Street in Harrisburg. The show starts at 10. Three great bands for one low price! Should be a really good show.

Speaking of really good shows... this past Friday we were able to catch Case 150 at Remy's, and those guys were incredible. If you like alt-country music, than you'll love Case 150! We're actually working on getting some shows together, so check back here to find out when those shows start happening. Hope to see you at Remy's on the 18th.
