Wyshbone was formed in Summer 2005 after a chance introduction from a mutual acquaintance who worked at a local Kelowna radio station. He introduced the two (Jamie and Pete) after hearing them at private functions and the rest is history.
They have been playing private functions and local venues in the Okanagan area of British Columbia since then and are now booked way too far ahead.
They both enjoy song writing and discovered they both had a bookful of songs they had written over the years .They decided to collaborate on these songs and an idea for a CD was launched.
They finally moved these songs into Eric Enders’ studio in late 2006 , and Eric agreed to produce their CD.
The “Private Reserve” CD is all original music. Lyrics and music were written by Peter and Jamie and the CD was produced by Eric Enders.
The CD was released in Feb 2007 and the boys have been included selctions from the CD in their regular gig sets since then.
Wyshbone is:
Jamie Fear
Lead guitar / Harmonica / Mandolin / Vocals
He’s played in the U.K. , Austria, Spain, Germany and Australia, He’s played guitar since he was 12, joined his first band at 15, and been a part of 9 or 10 bands in his musical career (Western Union, Shaky Jake, The Ratbags etc.). A T.V appearance on Australia day was a notable highlight. Jamie has traveled extensively playing music, enjoys and plays a wide variety of music, and enjoys songwriting.
Pete Thewlis Keyboards /Vocals.
Started his music career in an Irish showband at age 14 , followed by 20+ years touring in U.K, Europe, US, and Canada with various bands. The Federates // “The Nolan Bros”// the Morning After etc . He’s also entertained as a single artist and with various bands throughout Western Canada . Opening for Tom Cochrane with Tommy and the T birds in Osoyoos was a highlight of recent years. Pete enjoys a variety of music but has a soft spot for country - as long as it’s rockin! He also enjoys songwriting in his studio on a lazy afternoon!!!!
Just one other note of interest. Both of the boys met and married German Frauleins, Helga and Monika, and many of the songs were inspired by their wives.
