Formed in late May/early June of 2007,in the heartland of southern Indiana,Fred,Randy and Roger were drawn together by their love for music,and the desire to play original rock and roll,"music with a message". Though they had all been involved heavily with other music groups in the past,the boys had been away from the live music scene for quite a few years.The rust would be heavy,it would be a tough row to hoe.Yet,after their first few jams together,and time well spent getting to know each other,the "feel" of the music was there,as well as the foundations for some lasting friendships,thus,THE UNKNOWN was born. These guys play the music that they love,the way they love to do it.Whether its to an empty room at rehearsal,or 100+ bodies at a show,"hootin' and a'hollerin' ",they always seem to have a heck of a good time doing it. Live they have an energy reminiscent of The Who,Cream or Led Zeppelin. Their music though,is fresh and original,yet has a familiar "feel" which seems to draw in folks of all ages.

Its the classic "power trio" line-up...guitar,bass and drums,though,at times it sounds as if there is much more coming off of the stage.A classic case of the whole being larger than the sum of its parts...As for who The Unknown sounds like...I would have to say a mixture of their influences,which you can hear in different aspects of their songs. They dont really sound like any other group,yet the music has a "familiar" feel to it.At times in the music you can hear a bit of The Who,Zeppelin,Allmans,Dead...with a dash of Beatles and Santana sprinkled on top,flowing in and out of their songs,throughout the show...though this group is not copying anyone...They are truely making music,not just playing the songs...For even when playing another groups song,they put themselves into it totally,and turn it into something of their own,not copying...creating...

The Unknown	2/24/2009 7:25:50 AM Thanks guys...We are going into the studio the 3rd week in March to record cuts for The Unknown's first album. We are all fired up about it and I cant wait for you all to hear some of the new tunes we have been working out.We've been playing them alot out live,and thats how we plan to record it-live in the studio,with,perhaps,a few overdubs,such as vocals and maybe an acoustic guitar on a couple...we shall see how it sounds originally,and go from there.
