Our first ever song was recorded on our cell phones after the homecoming game in Shmack's driveway. It was rapped by T-Bird and Killa Kidd and the beat boxing was provided by Shmack. Caca can be heard in the background laughing. It was later named Random Freestyle and the rap/hip hop band Drivewayz was formed. The song was edited using the Audacity program. Music was later added to it and Random Freestyle Xtreme was created. The next song created was Green Eggs and Ham, which was completely freestyled. The first written song was Revisited, a sort of remix of the Random Freestyle.

The band has gone through several name changes. A couple months after the Drivewayz was created, the name was changed to D-Unit for a few days. After Kidd did some research and found that D-Unit was already the name of a large amount of bands, a new name had to be thought up. The first names proposed were The Dwayz and the Who Dwayz. (Dwayz meaning Drivewayz) Then eventually it came to The Who-Dey, which appears to be the permanent name for the band.

On Jaunary 15, 2007, The Who-Dey leader, Shmack, was contacted by the president of Pooch Records, Mr. Puchalski. They came to an agreement, and The Who-Dey became under the ownership of Pooch Records. The Who-Dey was previously an independent band.

On the night of April 13 2007, three more rappers were added to The Who-Dey family when the songs Never Touch and Remix were made. Those rappers are Smock, Pooch, and CC. The song Never Touch was entirely written and recorded by CC, Smock, and Killa Kidd. Shmack then added a verse and special effects.

Shortly after Never Touch and Remix were made, CC and Pooch officially joined TWD. They immediately started writing songs and started coming up with future plans for the band. After more than a month of song writing and planning, TWD decided to start making a remix of Never Touch. Shmack began looking for other artists to be featured in the remix. He came across a band much like TWD called MJD. Pooch did not like this bands style and overall attitude. Sam was quoted in a message to Shmack saying, "I would really like you to reconsider letting that other band get in on the remix, they're nothing but trouble, but the final decision is up to you so do what you gotta do." Shmack's plan was to have MJD record a verse and have the entire band decide on whether or not to include it in the remix. After discussions between TWD and MJD continued, Pooch announced he was quitting the band because MJD wanted to change the remix and Pooch believed they were trying to change the style of the song and the style of the band itself. At first, Pooch said it was just a publicity stunt, but later, it got serious. There was a huge argument that involved Shmack and Killa Kidd verses Pooch. Shortly after this arguement, Pooch changed his mind and said instead of forming a new rap band with CC, he was going to leave the rap game completely.

About a week after this argument, Shmack contaced Pooch and CC asking them to record their verses in a song that all three of them had written about a month earlier. Shmack had already recorded and edited his verse in the song and he wanted to get the song done for the debut album, Whodunit. They agreed and recorded the song, Toothache, about a week later. This song has been arguably The Who-Dey's greatest success. Recently, Pooch announced he will be returning to be on the next album, Suburban Legend. He will have a major rule in 2-3 songs. Pooch has also talked about forming a band with CC, but that has not yet officially happened.

Shmack decided to look for artists across the country to be featured in songs from the SL album. He found two rappers to be in the song In The Sky, MC Magic and ALA. Since this song was recorded, Magic and Shmack have continued making songs together. Magic will be featured in 2-3 songs on SL and Shmack will be featured in at leats two songs of Magic's.

In the month of January 2008, The Who-Dey was selected to be a featured artist on the ringtone website, myxertones.com. Who Stole The Cookies now has over 1200 ringtone downloads.

The rest of the history is in the making as we speak....
