all genres from rap to country.
– What does it take to become a household name, a bona-fide phenomenon, or a blip on the radar of American rock’n’roll radio? Reversing Recording shines a white-hot spotlight on Billy London’s “Dystopia” for all the world to hear!

His latest release since 1980, “Dystopia” is the
Americana, Brit pop, punk rock, folk ballad collection that has been brewing in London’s head for decades. It took coming home to Dover, New Jersey to write some new material and then returning to the home of friend Nigel Gray in England to finish recording the album.

“I’m a pop music rock’n’roll junkie,” admits London. “At 17 I picked up the guitar, messed about on the piano. I always had a band. I just can’t stop myself.”

As a teenager in suburban New Jersey, London did his part to promote the best of ‘60’s psychedelic rock and anything British Invasion. Combining the fashion and the sounds of these two genres made heads spin whenever one of his bands took to the stage. His mod-meet-beatnik attire and love for fog, strobe lighting, volume and drama made the London experience most entertaining, and his catchy songs unforgettable.

Billy is equally at home on the street as a busker in the capitals of Europe, on stage, in the studio or making movies. After 25 years of banging around the globe he has finally taken the time to record and release the songs he has had in his head for a quarter of a century.
He moved to England in 1978, relocated to Paris in the ‘80’s and was a successful actor in Bucharest at the beginning of the century where he performed in “Youth Without Youth” directed by Francis Ford Coppolla and starring Matt Damon and Tim Roth.

London’s work ethic has not changed in 50 years. He still believes in solid songwriting and enthusiastically communicating to listeners. “You can’t go wrong with influences like Chuck Berry, Ray Davies, Lennon and McCartney, Verve, Blur and Oasis. These guys helped build the foundation of the house of rock!”

London has joined with several close friends to record this alternative rock album. Iconic UK producer Nigel Gray, best known for his Grammy Award winning work with The Police, offered his home studio in the English country side to record several of the tracks and monster classic rock guitarist Mike Prichard also got on board to engineer and produce some of the tunes. Childhood buddy and co-conspirator, Steve Peer has been asking London to slow down and provide him some material to release since 2007. It has finally happened and Peer is as happy as a clam to be releasing it on his outlaw label, Reversing Recordings.

“London covers some interesting lyrical territory,” says Peer. “No one writes a pop song quite like Billy London does!”

Here Billy London’s voice explores the different expressions of love, desire, and jealousy from the profane to the divine.
