Combining equal parts folk, pop, rock and Americana, NYC singer/songwriter JOE WHYTE's songs are riddled with, "time tested melodies" (TimeOut NY).

His latest EP, WRECKING BALL, is a rockin' full-band follow-up to 2005's more acoustic-based album, THE LOWER 48, which Jersey Beat magazine described as "supremely subtle beauty" and "one of the most moving and reassuring albums we've heard in quite a while."

In April 2005, Joe was invited to Ireland to play the 8th annual Carlsberg Rhythm and Roots Festival in Kilkenny, where he headlined 2 shows and also opened for alt-country legends Son Volt. He also returned for the second year in a row to showcase at both the Dewey Beach Music Conference in Delaware and the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA.

In late 2005, Joe signed an endorsement deal with Elixir strings,
showcased with his band at the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC, was named a semi-finalist in Discmakers/Taxi Independent Music World Series and had a song placed in the PBS show "Roadtrip Nation", which aired on over 70 PBS stations. He was also a recipient of an ASCAPlus award, a merit-based songwriting grant from ASCAP, the performing rights society, and has been invited to Los Angeles to perform at the monthly Americana Music Circle in mid-2006.

Over the years, Joe has played with such acts as Son Volt, The Frames, Josh Ritter and Toby Lightman, to name a few.

Joe is represented (legal) by George N. Stein, former attorney and manager for the late Jeff Buckley.

"This is excellent Americana music...Confident vocals and solid
arrangements...the writing is first-rate...it has an intriguing &
appealing vocal character and the band sounds great...really well-written songs with extremely engaging musical arrangements and irresistable melody lines...great voice and well-structured songs with interesting, clever lyrics...Excellent work...these tracks all sound radio-ready. What's not to like??!!" - TAXI, March/April 2006

"...there's no dispute that Joe has a fine distinctive voice...in 'Let Me Down' Joe breaks out of the singer-songwriter angst that grips some Americana these days - the best song on the record." - Americana UK

"...lovely, lulling, softly soothing and sonorous...supremely subtle beauty...one of the most moving and reassuring albums we've heard in quite a while." - Jersey Beat
