Indie Publishing and Royalties
As far as i can go back, all the research and documentaries i have seen on artists and the music industry...it feels like one of the biggest issues in history is "the record label" didn't pay the artist (which is sad but true most of the time) so artists have tried new ways and fought harder to get signed or make more money from the label.

Sounds like a big waste of energy man, too much negativity does the body no good.

Instead, heres an idea..Why dont weeee...Open up a label, sign ourselves, and mass distribute our music? The main income for musicians throughout is usually the paid royalties from distribution. But now the world enjoys premium streaming from stores such as Spotify Apple Music. However most artists dont make anything at all from these services, at least they could if they did the right things.

Owning your copyrights to your lyrics and music automatically happens when you made the song, the song is yours the voice is yours those words are yours...HOWEVER, the master owners own the song. The labels /distributors / sometimes managers are the ones who own that master. But now you can too, all you need to own your masters is to BUY AN International Sales Registration Code (ISRC). Every country has companies that provide this service, where i am in Canada its provided by SoundExchange And Connect Music, and there are more.

the royalty payout from many streaming services like deezer and google play suggests that the company keeps 30% of your gross revenue, the artist keeps 10%, and the master owner keeps 60%

So go ahead and do a little bit of research on what you need to do with the music industry, in terms of Publishing, Owning your ISRC codes, and one that is quite essential which is product placement and promotion. My name is Psych, and i opened my Indie Label called PSYCH MUSIC, and this is my first song after two months on Spotify

This article is by no means right or wrong, just my perspective.

Welcome to the pipeline! and with a substantial discussion topic!

Unfortunately indies don't sell a lot of songs but looking into your options is definitely the right thing to do.

I heard your song and although I'm not a big fan of hiphop, I thought it was pretty good. Good lyrics, you have a good delivery too.
