New 6/10/08 - I found the song story for our song "Angel" in another location which was more complete.. I've updated it below.

A guy always sees a certain girl walking down the street. He'd like to meet her, but never gets the courage to go up and start a conversation. He sees her here and there around town, more and more it seems.

Finally he sees her walking by his house again and decides this time, he's really going to say something - as the last time she passed by, at least they exchanged glances and he took that as a sign of interest.

So he walks out to the sidewalk but she's already fairly far down the street toward her house. He sees her turning to go up the driveway to her house, but when he gets there she has already gone inside.

Well, next time she passes by, I'll definitely do it, he thinks.

So next day - it's late October, about 5 PM, drizzling, a little chilly, and already pretty dark. He waits out on his front porch and yes! she comes walking by, and even flashes a shy smile as she passes, on the way home. He heads out toward the sidewalk but by the time he gets there she's again way out in front, and though he picks up the pace, she disappears up her driveway before he can get there.

Well, this time it's going to be different. She smiled! That must be an invitation! So he walks up the driveway to her house and knocks on the door.

You know where this is going right?

A woman, a little plump, greying hair, kind face, answers the door. He says - um, ma'am, I er- wondered if if could talk to your daughter - I just wanted to introduce myself and I see her walking by every day - that is your daughter, right?

The woman's smile drops, and she turns white. My daughter, Angel, was hit by a drunk driver while walking home from work, ten years ago, she says. You're not the first one to have seen her. The woman is crying, and the guy starts to. He just turns and in shock walks down the driveway to the sidewalk. It's dark now, and the wind picks up, and it's actually raining now.

His world is cold black emptiness and utter despair - from the highest high down to the depths. He reaches his driveway, and turns, to walk up toward the house.

Suddenly, he's not alone.

"Hi," she says, smiling. "My name is Angel."
