NOT ALONE ACCEPTED INTO QUARTERFINALS OF ZIPPO HOT TOUR CONTEST
Gilbertsville, PA – (May, 2006) Philadelphia region guitar-driven modern rock band Not Alone® has been accepted into the quarterfinals of the nationally coveted unsigned band contest, Zippo Hot Tour sponsored by Zippo Lighters. Now in its third year, the Zippo Hot Tour gives one unsigned rock band the opportunity of a lifetime.
Hundreds of hopefuls from Austin, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Tampa enter the contest at the beginning of the year. Of these, several from each city are selected to advance to the Quarterfinal round by officials at Zippo.
Winners of the Quarterfinal round are determined online at zippohottour.com where fans of Rock can login, listen and vote. These winners will move on to compete live in their respective home cities where one finalist from each city will be chosen to advance to the final round. The final national winner will be determined, again by online voting.
The lucky band who took it all in 2005 was Jealousy Curve from Philadelphia who won more than $100,000 in prizes, a private showcase in L.A. for Capitol Records and a nation-wide tour in the Zippo Hot Tour bus supporting The All American Rejects (Interscope Records). Front-runner to headline the 2006 tour is super-group Velvet Revolver (RCA Records) featuring Duff and Slash (formerly of Guns N Roses) and Scott Weiland (formerly of Stone Temple Pilots).
While quarterfinal voting is in progress, Not Alone will also be headlining a showcase at the tenth annual Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg on June 22nd, a show that includes The X’s featuring Brett Scallions (former lead singer of Fuel) along with 2005 Zippo Hot Tour winner Jealousy Curve.
