Mention IMP wherever you go on the web
Especially music sites. Word of mouth is a big thing for us, some of you belong to other sites, link to us please.

Well yes, I think we all do try and I could do better as well, and link up where ever and whenever we can and if the IMP player could be improved to work as well as soundclouds and reverbnations players I would say that would be a big boon and give IMP a huge boost, as it stands, it still does not compete, or show as well as those two, I have tried it on facebook and twitter, and it still needs some refinements to be recognized as a polished quality player. If this could be overcome, then i would use it consistently with my postings for my songs and others i would be promoting
This is not a diss at what IMP has,is doing, and has accomplished over the past 6 months or so, it is just the truth on one aspect that could be brought into the conversation and overcome some of its lack of meeting the criteria of what the others have in place. The same goes for the station player, it is reasonable, but still does not meet the current standards in the industry IMHO
This may some like sour grapes or that I am not fully immersed in the culture and support of this organization, I think IMP stands head and shoulders above all others over all, but in the aspect of the player it falls well short of my expectations and i cant use it properly at Facebook or twitter , it does not show well. I know the developers have brought a lot of the table here, and i understand the budgetary concerns, so it must be put upon the shoulders of the people who use IMP, who come here, load their songs up, use the blog, have access to excellent service. We are the ones who should be helping not only maintain the day to day operations, and give what we can to keep this fine place financially stable, as it stands only a handful give on a regular basis, so I hope people will see that open guitar case icon and give what they can to not only assist in keeping this place afloat, but give to improve what we have.
For me it would be that player, if it should shoulder to shoulder and looked good as soundclouds and worked as well, I would use the IMP player all the time. I have tried, but it just doesnt meet what I need to have. I I dont have the ability myself to build a player for my needs so use what works best for me
Not everyone is going to agree with me, thats fine, I just would like to see a better player. Try it out, tell me what you think of it, am i off base, or have too high expectations or am I ashamed of what we have, not really but prefer something that I can say, when I post a link somewhere , is that it conforms as well as the other players do to the standards and specifications as the others, and then I can say there is my song, my latest release and it looks good reflects the best of me in images and looks well crafted and inviting. and then I would be 100 % immersed in all aspects of the IMP EXPERIENCE

Not to worry. As and when the subject arises, I categorically do. All the time, Time.

Bryon,
No the IMP Player does not look as fancy as some of the others, but, it is the only one of those players that stream at 320 kbps. On top of that, if you copy and paste the link from the player itself, it responds faster than the others too, on facebook and twitter.

I agree Scott, I did not go out of my way to take a shot at IMP, and the IMP experience, it is great, nothing like as I have stated many times before because of what is offered music wise, the stations, which i spend a great deal of time at ensuring I listen to music on the site, and add to my many stations, the blog, the interactivity, the friendships and music collabs one is able to make, no question, there is not one place that can offer as much.
But presentation and imagery are what attracts people as well as the music, players for me are important. in what I do, so, I have to go where i can use the most attractive one and those that give me and the artists I promote some looks
I am sure you will admit that is part of the experience that will hook people
. Still as it stands it is acceptable from your perspective and I acknowledge that
I do upload all my files elsewhere, at 320 except reverbnation, longer songs over 8 megs and you have to upgrade so there is that advantage of course, so I drop to 256, which is reasonable.
I was not limiting or making the IMP experience less ust because the player is not sexy or inviting as others. but just a thought, for what it is worth. and I think I will leave it at that.

Yeah I know, Bryon, I've made inquiries about what we can do to make it look better on other platforms.

I am a huge believer in IMP, I spend enormous amount of my time here engaging and supporting people, although there is none like you Scott who have done so much more then we really know.
Each person here is a vital component, especially those that immerse themselves in the whole experience, and there has been a boost in participation on the pipeline. I would like to see more activity with the station masters and or people getting more involved with starting stations, I know Verity brought it up awhile back and i have as well. I hope to see an improvement there, perhaps people just are busy with life .
maybe i spend an inordinate amount of time here when i should be pursuing other things such as song writing , being creative in my own works. But at this time this is way more important then anyplace else, just for the fact i know a lot of people here, the artists I promote, my collaborators, and people on the pipeline, that brings inspiration and interests me and to listen to the amazing music.
so to all, lets keep working it, the IMP EXPERIENCE is like no other

You know, it would cost a bundle, but if you promoted the site
on actual radio stations, that might be interesting.
I'd be down to throw in on something like that.
Might even come up with a disgustingly catchy BEATLESEX Radio Jingle
for it as well. We've done that sort of thing before you know.
At any rate, I'm always talking about IMP, always telling people. Always.

Hello, and now I'm adding a word from this one.
See, I wouldn't put all my stuff on one page, I couldn't,
even if the system had capacity to hold it all, and I'm sure it doesn't,
so I'm very selective, only the best stuff and the rest can go sag off...
I did ---Hello, this is Lesley speaking with her voice---
want to mention, I do in fact, mention IMP....
Just did to Jimmy Page, who's childhood picture I recognized,
and once I did that, (no one's confirmed it yet, but I'm sure that's who it was,
in a Quizno's Sandwich Quiz thingy over there...)
I thought 'well I came this far, why not invite him to form a bloody Supergroup
as he's done that sort of thing. You've heard "Radioactive" haven't you?
Even told him I have the range to bang out a few Zep tunes, give the people
what they want and all that. Also mentioned a mention to Mr Page
that he should consider getting a page at IMP, and then coming on
the Pipeline and talking about whatever he's doing now.
Whether or not it's form a supergroup with Lesley Jane and the boys or not.
That's about it.
What. I told you Folks, I Dream BIG.
Always Did. Always Will.
Cheers...
God Bless, Much Love, ~L
But yeah, I so really did just write to Mr James Page,
and rattled all that off to him,
even about Pete recognizing John, told him about me as well, yeah.
Or heh.
What does 'heh' mean,
sounds like 'yeah' in Canadian sort of.
?
I also sent Katie Couric our latest record
"Ted Cruz Is A Douche" by BEATLESEX,
this morning in fact.
Sent it to a couple people, including the President.
Of.
The United States.
What.
I always send in my new ones, why not?
You get plenty of mention out of me, not to worry, Mr Time.
Not to worry.
