Do you like rock festivals?
I got an email from a guy who developed an app to show what rock festivals are going on around the world, you can see his work at
http://www.netflights.com/festival

I don't understand the modern necessity for people to post where they are at all times.
Oh look at me I'm in the grocery store
Oh look at me I'm at the dairy queen
how about this if you want your friends to know where you are call them. Why do a thousand people using the app want to know where you are who don't know you?
We don't care where you are because we don't know you and guess what its a rock festival yes there is going to be a lot of other people there go figure.

I don't need any apps because I gotta slow coach phone. No smart phone here, nope!
And I agree with you, Ken. It is nuts to always be posting where you're at. I would never do that even if I did have a smart phone!

Up here in northern Cal., I can see the potential usage for the app. I like doing festivals cause they pay more and you don't have to lug equipment at 2am.
But the app should have details in advance for applying to do the gig!
Anything after that is only promotional.
Here in the Delta/Bay Area, for festivals you have to go through a committee for the state counties and apply. A lot of good bands have "Carte Blanch" to come back and play with priority gig times.
Planning is key I guess........

I dislike 'smart phones'.
Last damned thing I needed was be outsmarted by my own phone.
Smart TVs are another thing to avoid,
did you know that Smart TVs Watch YOU?
They do. It's a fact. They have cameras, that film you at home,
under the guise of 'better serving our customers'.
Big Brother is home and walkin' around in his friggin' underwear.
Needless to say, I insist on a dumb TV.
And Lo!
Turn It On,
There It Is!
All The Dumb I Want.
As for this question,
it all went downhill after the first Woodstock.
