Facebook is anti music artist in case you didn't know
I ran a test with 2 of my friends and a music link I posted this morning did not show up even once on either of their timelnes. Another musico friend says they want ad money for those.

Was it a link from IMP? I think that they only interface with larger music providers, such as iTunes, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, YouTube et. al.
Maybe it's not so much anti-artist as it is pro-money. The probably have deals with those guys, or just interface with them because they know the demand is there for those sites.
I believe that, if the profile of IMP were higher, the streaming link from here would be operational there, as well.

ah,
is that the catch?
well, you could, conceivably,
still get people aware of it,
see, if the link, makes it hit a gate that closes,
you don't put a link!
You walk around that shit!
Like, for instance,
"HEY Folks!
There is this Great Song,
It's called "Whabbadawhobada..."
and it is, at the one and only Premiere Music Site In The World,
Indie Music People dot com.
(only, you kinda make all that one word, you get it Folks?)
and it is by yours truly, Father Time...
or by The Coming Of Age, which is yours truly Father Time,
and some crazy but talented other guy, has a million names, doesn't matter,
what matters is, the music. You can find it. There."
something like that.

FB is not anti-music artist. They are anti-music artist making money or getting plays and not getting their cut!

The fact is they do not allow song links to pass thru, whether on IMP or youtube or anywhere. Unless you pay them.

Youtube links work just fine for me on FB.

perhaps Zuckerberg got wind of that you are my friend.
Zuckerberg has a personal grudge against American Lesley Jane.
Zuckerberg kicked American Lesley Jane off of Facebook because of it.
I'm sure the fact that I had at the time a record out called
"MySpace Rocks... Facebook Sucks" had nothing to do with it at all.
Shoulda heard the sequel I did after the bastard kicked me off.
I was an idiot of course, I walked up to him like the who I am I am
and said "Hiya Zuck, I'm American Lesley Jane",
and just my luck, he checked me out, and found that song... ooops.
So, if, Zuck found out, that you work with American Lesley Jane,
I'll tell ya, that alone, would, not could, would,
have him blocking your every effort,
like, more than he might already do,
for the average schlep.
Word.

I have shared links on FB and had my FB "friends" have in turn shared the links.
I don't recall if the link that was shared was IMP or another site but I can say that sharing links on timelines does work because my "friends" have shared them.

That's what's happenin' there. I'll betcha. Betcha a buck.

Hi Scott! In many respects, I think Facebook is also anti-life. As you might recall I re-activated my account 8 months ago only to follow the career of a particular band. They asked my permission to use a gift parcel from me on their FanMailFriday and I loved that! Since then, FB has sent out many vines, and some of those have become tentacles. I have taken out my machete and cut off many of those tentacles.
I lived 66 years w/o FB and could certainly do it again. I will never, ever leave IMP however, as long as it survives. This is my new home; not FB! Thanks for all you, Evie, and the majority of the 20,000+ artists do here. I wish I would live long enough to listen to about 19,000 of them. As it is, my station currently only contains 37, but some of the best, I believe!

It does work Scott
my fb "friends" shared summer circle which I did not long ago.
Same song got absolutely no reaction here except Byron added it to a station which is what I have come to expect from this community.

well it doesn't work for me. I posted 3 youtube links over a 2 day period and have confirmed with several friends and another facebook account I keep for a separate group of people that none of these links appeared on friends' timelines.

That's kind of bizarre to me because all my links seem to go through without a hitch. Not sure of what the problem is but I hope you can figure it out.

It's me, I'm tellin' ya,
Facebook is Anti-Lesley,
because Zuckerberg, is Anti-Lesley.
I made the mistake of making myself known to him,
and I had out a record,
called "MySpace Rocks...Facebook Sucks",
and he immediately kicked me off Facebook once he found out.
I never anticipated he'd actually check me out. He did. Then I went
whoosh right out the airlock. Zuck's a control freak to say the least.
Maybe if you have an alias and post that way,
but if he's wise to it, like COA for instance,
he'll already have a red flag on it...
Zuck you suck, makin' a social networkin' site,
that won't even let you network,
if it's any comfort, MySpace sucks too, but so do you. Schmuck.
Here's a thought. Make IMP Bigger Than Facebook.
Can't achieve, before we conceive. Conceive, then Achieve.
And it won't matter what Schmucko Zucko The Clown does, will it.
Sorry.
Sucks to be my friend, I guess.
Now anyway.
One day, that could conceivably change, who knows.
But yeah, right now it kinda does, in terms of leeway on Facebook. *sigh*

I may have a way around it. As long as I don't put the link in my original status, the thread seems to go thru.
