John Denver, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin. plane crash, plane crash, car crash. Which was the biggest loss?
They all carved out some greatness, I think.

Buddy Holly though any senseless loss is a tragedy..
I wonder how many future artists have been lost to vaccine injury in the last 20 years??? That's an even greater tragedy..

All were tragedies and a great lost to music.
But Buddy Holly was the biggest loss. He was well on his way
of surpassing Elvis Presley as the Top Guy of Rock n Roll.
But on the flip side, had he not gotten on the plane and continued
on his Rock n Roll path, it may had been possible The Beatles
would never come to be, or at least not under that name,
which they picked in honor of The Crickets, Buddy's band, in tribute to him.

Any loss of life is a bummer, especially when those lost gave so much to so many and had so much more to give had they lived. When genius is cut short, the deprivation of their potential is an incalculable tragedy. In the music world, ALL the premature deaths we’re heart breaking. Holly,
Redding, Duane Allman, Janus, Jimi, Cobain,
Morrison, Winehouse, Lennon, and others, all
left a giant hole in the music field that has never been totally filled.

Chuck. Berry. (drops mic)
But seriously, they are ALL tragic.
For me, Jerry Garcia hit the hardest. And Kobe has been right up there with Jerry.

The biggest loss in recent years was Prince. That void will never be filled. Neither will the one left by Michael Jackson. There are very few entertainers left. Just a bunch of players and singers but they don't inspire me to do anything but yawn. Even the singing group's don't do much but stand and sing. Boring as shit! The Korean boy bands have got us all beat. That is entertainment!

Agree with Stoneman about Prince.
Although David Bowie was just about the equal for me.
And D. Boon was fucking tragic. He was just 26. Car crash. A trailblazer of the early punk scene with The Minutemen.

Prince and Bowie were huge losses. And Neil Peart, too.
