Facebook is anti-artist.
A close friend of mine who is also a fan of our music told me that she never saw any of our last 3 videos on her feed, which is incredible because all have been posted easily a half-dozen times. Facebook is pretty indispensable when it comes to keeping up with your friends but i hate them so much for their anti-artist algorithms. Really really sucks.

FB is way pro-established artists and performers, anti indie unless you pay to play and get on their program of paid ads. I have, and have gotten results, so sometimes you have to surf with the bad guys to get even a little tiny bit of recognition and help, even if they are fake accounts. lol but really its the way it is, so accept that fact

Did you pay for licenses for the footage you used (like the fox news footage)? Because if you did not, you may be violating copyrights. That'll get ya yanked.

not the issue, it's just a fact that they don't forward music and video links, only about 1 in 10 makes it to most of your friends' feeds.

As I recall facebook wants your mind body and soul and you will become a zombie as your brain turns to mush your eyeballs fall out of their sockets and hang down dangling looking at your belly button .its a horrid thing and has become an epidemic. See it is spreading to IMP now .a shame that people cant get off their arse and are stuck to their chair.Hospitals have a waiting list of people lined up to have them removed as their butt gets melded to the chair .the good thing people with this condition can wait knowing they will have a place to sit . There are many other related issues like the condition known as "dumb ass comments" which has become pandemic . All the above conditions can be treated by getting out doors and spending less time trying to be a smart ass with dumb ass comments .doctors recommend for those suffering with all the above to turn off your electronic devices and get outside and enjoy life .go to parks camp listen to birds and feel the breeze caress your face . Have a nice day Humans

Why not just share the videos with your friends via e-mail?

I'll say one more unpopular thing before I go back and hide under my bridge again for a while.
The problem is that you have to create content that creates enough interest that people interact with it and want to see it. You need to be able to generate likes get people to comment get people to have some interaction with your posts or guess what happens? More interesting content bumps you. Its like a horrific popularity contest where who screams look at me the loudest and makes them self the most asinine gets attention for example look at the a certain group of girls that have no talent skill or merit whose last name starts with a "k" those girls create buzz. How? I have no idea. The reason your content is not being seen is that compared to other content its not generating clicks. if it was then the content would be seen.
This is how the site you mentioned always worked is not anti-artist as you claim. Its not out to get you and you might think the way that they do the algorithms is unfair and maybe it is but imagine this. Your site is getting bombarded with millions maybe billions of new content everyday. Your system needs a way to filter the content that it thinks is relevant because it "reaches" an audience.
So if you want your content to be played create better content that gets interaction the more interaction you gain the more your feed shows and the higher your content shows. If your not the most interesting dancing bear another dancing bear with a pink tutu that is submitting content that is getting peoples attention.
Which bear do you give the cookie to Scott? The bear who brings no ticket payers to the circus or the dancing bear that people are waiting in line to see. I think that answer is pretty obvious and simple to figure out.
If you think that model is unfair then your always welcome to find another circus to display your dancing bear but don't be surprised when your tent is still empty at the end of the night because a bigger, better badder, circus is on the other side of town.

Facebook was better for artists in the past then changed their system a year or two ago. The bottom line is they offer some pretty good opportunities and one can pinpoint the demographic they wish to target. I
have done it somewhat in the last while, with reasonable success on a few releases and one that was exceptional, but you have to pay to get your works out, now some may not, or dont have to ,I was reticent at first and then tried it, since my label was doing it for one of their major acts, or a few, still the artists they rep had to pony up, its not that expensive, the fact is, you have to at least give it a go and experiment, took me a bit to figure the ads out, trial and error and getting use the system. Its like self promo, and it has boosted my spotify plays and followers to some degree. you never know, so, there you go.
Its a different game and the landscape changes all the time, have to play all sides. That is how I built my spotify place and the results are decent. chase the opportunity

Maybe things were different a while ago but we are not talking about then we are talking about now. What difference does it make what formula was used years ago? Its no longer in function. Today's algorithms are based or reach interactions.
One way in which to get such perceived interaction is as you mentioned to pay for advertising. Doing so will get you on more feeds but if your content is not up to snuff why would you pay to put your self in front of more people and pay to fail that seems just self defeating. If you create content that people want to see and click and comment your feed will get more popular on its own.
The most popular dancing bear gets the cookie. The public attention is fickle so you have to keep coming up with a new dance new outfit new whatever to keep them entertained. If people are not engaged is that faceboooks fault ?
That is the same as a car manufacturer making a bad car then being surprised when it doesn't sell.
Invest in your content. That does not mean necessarily spending money. Invest in research, watch what other content that is getting feeds is doing make your content so compelling people say holy shit you have to see this. Then you will gain the feeds and attention you desire. Complain about how you think its not fair is not really accomplishing anything to make your goals happen
By the way I'm not saying I've been successful but i know my content is never going to be popular I have a very small audience. So I expect it will not generate much feed.
