I played one of those for a bit in band, loved it, wish I had stayed on it.

French Horn, in the school orchestra in 3rd grade.
Didn't last long.
The first one that I stuck with was guitar.

I started taking piano lessons because my mom was insistent that I take part in some sort of extra curricular activity. She was trying to put me in hockey, which I had zero interest in. When she was laundry listing my sister’s activities and came to piano lessons I interrupted and said “Fine, put me in piano lessons”. She scoffed “oh! You’re going to take piano lessons, ya right.” “Well, you’re not putting me in hockey.” I retorted. She ended up signing me up and I took piano lessons for several years. My family didn’t have a piano (or even a keyboard) so I practiced at the house across the street. Their son, who was a good deal older than me, would always be upstairs shredding on the guitar with his amp cranked. He ended up teaching me my first guitar chords.

Piano
Self taught.
Found an old upright in the attic of an apartment my parents were renting.
I was a loner for sure, still am.
That piano got me through some rough times!

I was given a violin at school when I was ten and started the piano about the same time. I played the trumpet through my teens - even had an annual gig playing ‘the last post’ on Remembrance Sunday at the local church.

I don't know why but I would love to see you play the trumpet.

I started off learning the recorder then the piano. This was a really good grounding for everything as I ended up playing flute and guitar as well plus African percussion!
I'm not a particularly good instrumentalist but I love the versatility of knowing my way round quite a few instruments to get ideas for songs!
