how times have changed
When I first came on the internet in 1999, I early released my first record hoping to sell many copies.

My dream slowly got crushed.

I've evolved to being happy if someone listens and overjoyed if they take the time to comment.

Hey Bro....just realize it's all about the Labels promoting their Artists. They sell 500,000 CD's to Distributors, then buy back 100,000 to get their Artist on the Top 20 Billboard Chart. Then the Sales take off, the Distributor is happy, the Label makes all its' money back and then some, and the artist is lucky if they get 10% of the action.

If somewhere along the line you don't get a "Break", just be happy knowing you make Great Music, probably better than half the mainstream Crap out there now like the stuff RIGHT HERE ON IMP. You won't get rich, but that's Life. Enjoy doing your thing.
Be PROUD and Fly that Indie Flag. HONORED TO BE HERE WITH YOU GUYS/GALS.

I agree completely. I feel thrilled I’ve produced a couple of albums and sold a few hundred independently. I get huge pleasure knowing some people here appreciate my efforts and I certainly appreciate everyone here! I know a few people signed to big labels and they get sweet f.a. for their efforts and tied to ludicrous contracts and massive pressure. No, it’s indie all the way for me!

to the point Seismo made, one example is the elite fantastic blues guitarist Bobby Parker, added him up here at the old iacmusic site in 2005, now IMP. He was one of many artists I promoted, a lot are here, summer and the sinners, the bluevoodoo, Mud Dog, many more

I was First was contacted by Bobby in a Phone call where he lived from Baltimore in 2005, he was recommended to me by his cousin Chet Chandler,(Memphis Gold) whom I promoted as well, and raved about the inroads he was making with my contacts in the blues circle radio wise.Well as for Bobby, he sent me newspaper articles from way back in the 50s 60s and his latest cds, (now that is some time ago of course) man can Bobby lay down the chops, great blues guitarist and singer.

Bobby's songs have been covered by Spencer Davis Group, Dr. Feelgood and Santana. I promoted Bobby with great success stateside in 2005, Canada and Europe, check out Bobby's music and read his Bio, he been around the block.

And of course he told me how other musicians stole his licks and how he got cheated out of royalties by unscrupulous music rip off people in the industry where he totally got screwed over.

Yup many musicians have been F-ked over many examples of that that I could name here as many of you can as well.

Check out Bobby's blues groove here BOBBY PARKER

cheers, keeping the dream alive. believe and just keep going brothers and sisters
