Psyche's Musician's Passing...
The One(and ONLY) "Musician" of the Psyche's Muse(William Wallace Sturdivant) is now dead(he passed away on March 3, 2020 at the age of 57). There will be NO funeral, NO service of any kind... as per the wishes of his only surviving family member, his "BROTHER"... JIM. I do not know or understand why this is the case and inquiring causes anger and argumentative responses from his brother. So, I placed one of Bill's(Xanthan Gum's) very first songs(Apache Tear) onto Facebook to commemorate his passing so that some of his old friends could hear him singing. For the past two days I have NOT been able to see or hear ANYTHING from this place(IMP)... "nothing". Maybe it was my equipment. I do not know, but... Thank God!(we are back up and running?). Tomorrow is William's Birthday(Friday The 13th) and I have invited people over. We are going to have some birthday cake and will be listening to Bill voice, singing right here on IMP! Have a Blessed Day Everyone!!! =M=

To listen to Apache Tear again, knowing the sad story it will always have attached to it now, is most moving even for someone who didn't know Bill, so I can only imagine how this affects those who did :(

In times like this there are no words. Take comfort in knowing you honor him by keeping his memory alive in the best possible way by listening to his voice.

I pray that you will be shown a sign that Bill has crossed over and is now part of the cosmic energy that can never die.

This is a tragic loss. We always think there is time until there is not.

My thoughts are with you.

I'm sorry, I just don't know what to say.

Like everyone Mort, we extend our deepest sympathies.

Losing bandmates is especially difficult.. Fellow travelers, friends, chums, dream makers and sharers...

Nothing fills that hole when it happens.

This is sad news. A very bright and articulate person, I had no idea something may be wrong health wise. I hope he passed peacefully.

Yes the site was down for a while I noticed too.

I'd like to reiterate what everyone's said here and send my deepest condolences to you at this awful time. Such a loss so young.

He'll live on in his music and your memories but a very sad loss indeed.

Sending love your way.

My condolences, Mortimor, on the passing of a valued musician of the Psyche’s Muse, and the subsequent circumstances – difficult I’m sure to comprehend, but many are in life it seems.

I truly understand the loss of a valued musician. In December of 2017, 36 hours after our gifted pianist / organist Carl Horton had laid down tracks on “For You” – a cover song that I had licensed for my ‘Dreams In The Wind’ album, at the age of 57, Carl dropped dead from a heart attack. A shock to his family for sure, as it was to the rest of us working on the album, bringing the production to a standstill for several weeks. When it came time to step up to the mic and do the vocals, I had to dig deep.

It was the last piece of music Carl played. That the song included a passage from the 23rd Psalm made his sudden passing that more poignant and unbelievable. If you didn’t “believe” before, you at least had to wonder.

Neil

God Bless You, Norm… and you too, Verity… and Tod… Et tu, Father Time… Richard… Thanks, Dolores… The Stoneman! and… ”Kin!”(TSC, I spelled it “kin” ON PURPOSE MY BROTHER!)… And you too Steve, Lars, and Sterling… “love you”, Chandra… Larree!(appreciate you man)… many thanks, Bryon… and Neil… and Rob…”Say Something”!!!(beautiful song). Still passionately “recovering” as this is actually the first time something like this has ever happened to… “for me”. And though both of my parents still live, as well as all of my sisters, other than my wife, NO ONE has EVER been as “closely aligned” with me as was William… and in a way maybe “even closer” he was than my wife in fact. He was(and IS!!!) the “Brother” that I never had(and yet DID… and still??? “DO”)… : ( R.I.P. Bill! For Ever Man!!! =M=
