Basal Cell?
To most of you fair skinned freckle faced kids, I would suggest you use your sunblock. I know this isn't quite the season for it cause right now we're all freezing our asses off.
Couple of months ago I got an abrasion on the back of my right lower leg. No matter what I did it just wouldn't heal. Actually it slowly got larger. Doctor asked if I was diabetic and did a test. Turns out I was pre-diabetic but the sore still wouldn't heal. Next was the biopsy and the bad news. I have "basal cell" skin cancer. By now after 3-4 weeks, it's the size of a silver dollar. I get it cut out (about 2.5 cm square) all 7 layers and they sent the specimen to pathology for results. Christmas eve I get a email that said they didn't get it all and I had to have another operation. Jan 9th was the 2nd go round. Results shows no more cancer which is a relief.
I would not wish this process on anyone. Basal Cell doesn't require kemo or any other extreme treatment, but it's dig and test trial and error just doesn't seem right. I'm thankful for the work that was done, cause I really like having my leg.
Cancer is cancer and it's all bad.
So take care of yourself and heed the warnings.
I'm getting a little taste of retirement right now and actually have time to work on about 3 new tunes for Feb-March.
Cheers,
Duane

Had my first harvesting two years ago next month.
Redheaded. Lived in California, Hawaii, and Texas by the time I was 6.
Hardly ever wore a shirt. I'm seeing my skin doctor again next week.

Hope all is well Duane.
To be sure, being fair skinned is the highest likelihood, but even we with more melanin can get it.
So like you said, take care all.
